Re: Does anyone else wish for a standard scale color other than black?
Just reading through the replies to this post,if I personally was to introduce a new knife, it would have black scales. Black seems to be the least objectionable color. My favorite color, purple, would turn off more buyers than black. It might bring in a few new buyers but it would lose more sales d...

I also have been lusting after a coin claw for years. I am saving and will probably buy one of the $100 production models if they are available when I have the funds. Still, a Spydiehole version would be better.

This is one I regret not getting. I seem to recall some reports of it not being really comfortable in the hand, hotspots or something. I held off...
I'd love another run of these...and a Dark Phoenix would be cool.

Re: Lupe: Asking for advice / recommendations please
Another recommendation for the Belomo triplet 21 MM 10X. I researched and bought that model 5-10 years ago and have never needed anything else. Great for when first sharpening a new knife to make sure you've sharpened all the way to the apex, after that I have so many knives in rotation, just touch ...

Re: Tusk and SE
I wanted a Tusk from the first time I saw it, finally got one a couple years ago. Great knife. I'm not out on water like I used to be, but the Tusk finds its way into my pocket regularly. In fact the blade steel on the Tusk is one of the reasons that the Spydiechef is on my to-buy list. Once I truly...

Re: Spyderco Reveal: Tell me more!
I just checked the Spyderco forum to see if the catalog was out yet, saw it was released, then searched for the usual "what are you most excited about from the catalog thread' and was confused that I didn't see one. Then I looked at the catalog, then found this thread. Bummer. Very disappointin...

Re: What would make you buy more Spyderco fixed blades?
I love and use Spyderco folders on a daily basis, that said I have yet to pull the trigger on any of their fixed blades. Sadly, while I always find a folder from Spyderco for the next purchase, I have yet to find one of their offerings in fixed blades to be a winning choice. My last two fixed blade ...

Re: 2018 Discontinued List
The stealth Chaparral had a good run, It's my most oft used Spyderco. I am generally opposed to buying pre-need replacements but I am sorely tempted to get another before they are gone for good. But then I'm planning on the Mcnees, the Ankerson/Sanders Bowie, and strongly considering the new hatchet...

Re: Spyderco Hatchet
I have been reading about the Spyderco hatchet and I want one; even though I reasonably have no real use for one. There are maybe six or more various small axes and chopping tools in my garage and I doubt any other than my go to one have been used in the last two years...some have been sitting unuse...

Re: Steel inserts on titanium lockfaces, are they necessary?
Personally I see this as another example of a ' virtual problem ' that has cropped up in the age of the internet. It works something like this, we now have almost unlimited research materials for just about any product and discussions that used to take place by two people verbally in a knife shop ar...

Re: Nick's question of "why"?
Sal, Thanks for bringing this video to my attention, I found it very thought provoking. I think the question of 'why' brings up another thought that I have had for some time. That thought is "The manufacturing capacity of the earth has far outstripped the actual need of the residents on this pl...

Re: How good is the Chaparral - and is the Ti worth it?
2xl gloves sometimes fit me, but 3xl is what I really need. Titanium stealth Chaparral is my most often carried knife in my rotation, at least twice a week since I got it. I do remember all the edges on the entire knife being very sharp when I got it, but it took less than fifteen minutes with 1500 ...

Re: Ankerson/Sanders Bowie Photos
The more I look at this knife the more I feel I need to have one. Excellent job on the design. looking forward to custom scales too. I love the screw on scales. I haven't had a large fixed blade since I sold off my Busse Skinny ASH due to poor handle ergos. (For me anyway.) I can't wait to add a 4V ...

Re: Which Models to Purchase for Value Increase?
After the standard caveat of saying knives are a bad way to save for retirement, I would say look for much anticipated models that were cut due to poor sales and ones that are lower volumes that maybe a collector might pay a ridiculous price for, in the future, to complete a set. Also expensive thin...

Re: Is an Off-center Blade Really a Big Deal?
I look at the 'off center blade issue' as a symptom of the internet. It is a problem that is only evident because the internet tells us it is a problem, but doesn't impact the functionality of a knife. I am lucky enough to have some of my grandfather's knives. The ones he used for years and years. U...

Re: Spydie Hole sharp edges
I had a similar problem with the Chaparral. 1500 grit automotive sandpaper was all that was needed. Five minutes was about all it took. To look at it you can't see any difference, but it made all the difference in the world to the way the knife felt.

Jonathan McNees Knife
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You! First off, I must confess that I am more of user of Spyderco knives rather than a collector. At one time I collected knives but eventually sold off all but the ones that actually get used. I limit my new purchases to ones that will see pocket time, or fulfill a real ...

The Spyderco I've been waiting for!
The Jonathan McNees design was another Spyderco surprise for me. The extremely small folder echoes small Spyderco collaborations in the past like the toad. It’s a size-class smaller than, say, a Dragonfly. The McNees design, size-wise, is more in the Ladybug range. The ergos were surprisingly good ...
