Re: Coming back to the plain Delica 4 after experiencing the entire lineup

Gernot, can you give me a size comparison between a Delica and Endela? Sure, as soon as I get home! But what I can tell you right now: For me the Endela is like 90% Endura and just 10% Delica. When taking just a quick look I think the Endela could get confunded with an Endura, but never with a Deli...

Re: The Manix 2 lw is pretty good

I agree with a lot of the above. The lightweight has grown on me a lot this summer, and has been frequently in my pocket. Given the choice, I'd still much prefer the g10 Manix, but for carrying in light or loose clothing, the lightweight model is great, and still gives me the blade shape/size and t...

Re: One word(s) - Current Favorite Model...GO!

Not meaning to derail the thread: But so far it is fascinating to see by how much margin the Military is leading: Mentioned 5 times, the closest models so far only 2 times: Native, Manix 2, Pm2, Endura (Endura maybe 3 times if you count the one endura-ish Pac Salt in)

Re: The Manix 2 lw is pretty good

Like most knives it's fine for casual use, it's only an issue when you go full idiot mode and cut up two huge bushes with it like I did. Doing heavy yard work will show you hot spots you didn't know existed. It’s not idiot mode, it’s research like you said, it shows you how that knife will feel whe...

Re: What’s up with the military?

My only problem is thicker bladestock on the whole Para line. Yes, its 3,7 mm, but it could be thinner. Police 4 is longer and it has only 3 mm stock, similary, Native Chief is 3,2 mm and almost the same bladelength. Yeah yeah, it taperes down to quite thin edge, but so the Police.... I am with you...

Re: Who edc's their Endura?

Have to buy one. Probably K390 version. Pac Salt FFG is nice....and I live the colour, but I also like the added heft of liners. Might sounds stopid, but sometimes my Pac Salt 1 is too light. I hear you! When coming directly from an Endura 4 to the Pac Salt 1 the latter can feel a bit "light&q...

Re: What’s up with the military?

I'm trying to sell my S110V Military. I also have a kydex sheath for it that when used opens the Military on the draw. It has never been carried or used. Saving up for other Spyderco knives! Need to raise the cash somehow. Hi Naperville, please don´t take this as rude or lecturing (since I am certa...

Re: Who edc's their Endura?

Let's say they came out with an "Endura Salt" in FFG LC200N with the Endura tip and rust-proof LC200N liners. Would your grail knife be that, or the upcoming LC200N Pac Salt?? I'd honestly go with the Endura Salt for the robustness of the liners and pointier tip. The extra .9 oz. of weigh...

Re: Who edc's their Endura?

I have been EDC'ing my Enduras almost daily for most of the past year. .... There you revived a REALLY old Endura thread, but I certainly don´t complain.. ;) The Endura 4 model still is my most "edc-d" folder, and if I want to be prepared for the widest variety of tasks (or if I could hav...

Re: Coming back to the plain Delica 4 after experiencing the entire lineup

Looking at recent threads I am glad to see that folks seemingly come back to realize how perfectly designed and usefull Delica (if a smaller knife is sufficient) and Endura (if one wants/needs a longer blade) really are. Said it several times before, but sometimes I get the feeling that some people ...

Re: Endura Every Day for a Year.

Is this thread about carrying only the Endura for a year? Very easy challenge... And exactly what I would choose if I could have only one folder for a year...as of lately I would have gone with my HAP 40 Endura, but now I´d most likely take the upcoming SE ffg Pac Salt (basically a linerless Endura ...

Re: I love the Spyderco Endura

The Spyderco Endura 4 is my favorite folder of all times and all brands. :) Just the right amount of cutting edge, long enough but still not making the closed knife TOO long For me perfect ergos The best locktype Light weight Hand reasonably close to the edge when held on the actual handle plus a Ri...

Re: What’s up with the military?

.... So what’s the deal with it? Why hasn’t it really been touched since it’s release? Why is it tip down only? Would y’all be interested in a modern iteration (thinner blade, drilled for tip up carry, steel more suited for beating, etc)? Had a Military (with wooden custom scales) and really liked ...

Re: Salt Dyad interest ???????????????????????????????

A Salt Dyad actually is exactly what I proposed when Lance (Surf Gringo) quite recently asked what we wanted to see in a new Salt knife (viewtopic.php?f=2&t=87498#p1448811) ;)

Though in my case: Pac Salt size, and featuring a full SE or comboedge blade plus a saw..

Re: Poll: Interested in a longer version of the Chaparral while KEEPING it´s thin bladestock??

I totally understand it. The Watu is the shining star of my collection so I absolutely agree there. I actually had assumed the sage was thinner, didn't realize it was closer to para 3 thickness. I still want a sage 2 m390 tho. Added to my post above: You might also want to look into this thread (Ch...

Re: Caly 3.5 Light Weight: Any News?

I just discovered the Caly line and am curious about this. I have Caly 3 in Hapy40 and the Caly 3.5 in ZDP. I don't find either to be heavy knives at all. So other than the option to have fun with different steels I'm not super excited about this. What am I missing? With they light weight be like t...
