Re: New KW Military in CTS-204P

My M390 mule is great for doing just about everything. However I can't speak to corrosion resistance because I use it mainly around the house. As for S110V, I've taken my PM blurple saltwater fishing and ended up abusing it rather badly. It was left for a long period of time (six weeks or so) withou...

Re: MT-24 MAXAMET Review and Testing

Appreciate the testing. I went back and bought a second one after considering what we're getting for $110. Not that I'll experience elevated attributes directly. It just makes the knife, and metallurgy in general, that much more interesting.

Re: How Stainless is S110V?

I've used mine in saltwater fishing including cutting up bait. I've abused it by putting it away and forgetting to rinse it off. Shows no sign of corrosion. Actually kind of surprising how good it is in this regard. Knives suit a purpose. There is a place for a durable stainless steel that takes an ...

Re: Massdrop appears to be conforming to MAP

Vendors everywhere are upset about Amazon and other retail disruptors. Apparently Spyderco was responsive to their complaints and now we have pricing set by a factory. Not a great business model. As for me, I now only buy Spyderco's I need. And with drawers full of knives, 'need' is a pretty exclusi...

I think I would be very, very sure before I attack someone's established business with a claim of fraud.

Re: I'm going to really miss Amazon!!!!

I just bought a Bradley Air on Amazon for $109 (it's showing $134 now). I would not have bought it if it were not such a great deal so who are the winners and losers in that scenario? And I know what you mean about shipping jobs to overseas.. I mean before you know it a company will start making a b...

Re: S30v is a **** fine steel

I'm happy to accept results when the testers state that in practice it doesn't matter much and/or that S30V matches the performance of the high end stuff in all but esoteric circumstance. Of course, I will continue to believe in testing over the anecdotal. Still, I admit I'm a little surprised given...

Nothing so strong as that. Always find it interesting how much stock people put into ...

Re: CS Exclusive Orange Paramilitary 2 DLC CTS-XHP

These were interesting but had to consider the upcoming M4 model in natural jade G10 (something I very much like) and the new S110V. Both at lower price points and with better steels. And that might have made me question CS's pricing except for the fact that they will sell every single one rather qu...

Re: S30v is a **** fine steel

Lots of 'well according to my experience..' and 'my impression is..' going on in this thread. My engineering head keeps coming back to what the actual testing says. And while testing knife steels does have some small amount of art mixed in with the science, I find test results usually-almost-every-s...

We all knew that the deposits were non-refundable and that the delivery date was somewhat less than a contractual commitment. Of course, nobody expected the delivery to slip a year. Whether you feel you are owed an update on this purchase based on reasonable customer service practices or you're just...

Got a Southard which is, for me, a better EDC than the Para being waited (and waited.. and waited) on. So it's now OBE and doesn't matter to me when the 2 I have on order get here. Still, when a company is 8-9 months late on a delivery, some kind of explanation is certainly a reasonable expectation....

Some would argue that M4 is vastly superior minus the corrosion thing. Agreed though, it's hard to compare the two. One is a flipper and the other is probably the opposite of one. Classy knives though, both of em. :D Certainly true that there are lots of people very happy with CPM M4. Still, I've g...

The Gayle Bradley is nice. It's certainly cheaper (60% of a Southard Flipper). Of course it is 34% heavier, has a liner lock vs a ti frame lock, and CPM M4 is nice but it's no CTS-204P. So, considering price, dunno. Price independent, there's no comparison.

I think Knifeworks and/or Spyderco owe the people that put down $16,000 worth of non-refundable deposits on these knives some kind of credible delivery schedule and some sort of explanation.

I really doubt anybody in this thread is an 'undercover agent entering into situations'.

If you need a self defense tool, carry a firearm. If you can't, carry mace.
