You might be able to ask a seller to really crank up the pivot nut so the blade barely opens. You can correct it later when you get the knife.

In New Zealand it is verboten to carry a knife for self defence. Therefore I do not carry my Resilience or Espada for self defence. I carry whatever knife I'm carrying because I like it, and it might be useful for cutting stuff.

One of the clip screws on my blue Persistence had stripped. I just put a little loc-tite on that one as two hold the clip securely enough. That said, with two stripped you're down to one which isn't a strong enough grip.

Can you just buy the torx screws separately?

I basically wet a paper towel and wipe the blade with it, then wipe it with a dry towel to take off the excess.

It does collect a bit of dust though.

I use olive oil, but I don't know if it actually does anything. I've not had a knife rust on me, if that counts for anything.

Just that looking at all the fake Spydercos makes the TC concerned about buying knives he hasn't handled himself.

It looks genuine, but it is ugly.

Number one, don't buy from a Chinese site.

Number two, if on eBay buy from someone who only sells new knives, and make sure they have a wide variety of them.

Don't buy second hand except from someone you know.

I just added a Resilience to my collection, and it's tucked in my pocket now. At a pinch it would make a reasonable kitchen knife if I found myself in a place with blunt kitchen knives.
