Re: What do you think this HUGE Spyderco Hole is from?
Are those referred to as SpyderBits? Could make one of those into a pretty slick keychain lid popper! True but if you've ever tried to cut or drill any modern properly hardened blade steel it is a complete pain in the butt. I don't have anything hard enough to drill a hole in those with. I've tried...

Re: Got a Military as a gift, is it real?
I've seen more real ones than fakes and everything about the knife you are showing looks legit. The sharpness of the jimping, the spyderhole cut, the grind, the laser markings and how they reflect light, the screws used, the stamped spyder logo on the clip, the quality of the g10 fit and finish. The...

Re: 1,000,000 Post Celebration Contest!
I'm that quiet absorber who visits daily and tries to keep up on what's new from my favorite knife manufacturer. Along the way I enjoy learning how to maintain my knives, read first hand user accounts, take in the numerous reasons behind your material choice and designs, view beautiful photos from t...

Re: How did you fall down the Spyder hole?
One handed opening, unique serrations, ultra-light weight, and locking sold me immediately when I first discovered Spyderco in the late '80s to early '90s.

Re: How do you guys like your edges?
Serrated and utility sharp on my carry knives. Anything more is a waste of my time and resources for the challenges my carry knives face. My woodworking edges OTOH get the full spa treatment; especially the carving tools which get the full mirror treatment.

Re: Any exciting experiences buying or selling your Spyderco
Ordered two Urbans from SierraTradingPost a while back and when they arrived I had two boxes and only one knife. They promptly corrected the problem and I can see how someone filling the order might grab both boxes and not notice one missing knife if they never separated the boxes.

Mid to late 80s. First was a bluish serrated ladybug at a mall knife shop in Texas (Hoffritz IIRC and it was engraved/etched on the blade).

Re: Dragonfly popularity
My favorite daily carry knife for many years. I carry it without a clip in the front pocket of my jeans and here are a few reasons I love this knife: -small and narrow format when folded fits flat in the bottom of my pocket so it doesn't try to rotate when walking/running and the ends don't print th...

Re: Carrying multiple Spydercos?
Two; one Dragonfly for lighter tasks around NKP and an Endura for heavier tasks. The same Dragonfly has been on duty for coming on twenty years. The Endura only for about eight years and was adopted when I was looking for a defensive weapon while carrying thousands of dollars of camera equipment on ...

Spydercos H1 knives are completely rustproof. In order for an H1 Military to make that claim, all components of it would also have to be made of rustproof metal. This would not only mean the blade itself, but also the liners, lock, clip, screws, standoffs, washers, lanyard tube, etc. I would suspec...

I got a reply to my email the other day. It basically said that they can't guarantee that the new parts will fit the knife and that if they did fit, it would be $20 plus a $ 5 return shipping fee. I think I'm just going to give away my UKPK as a gift and just buy a new 2013 FFG UKPK. Thanks for the...

Dragonfly in H1 to start, here's why: -easy to carry no matter the configuration (clip on or off, loose in pocket, keychain, neck lanyard, etc.) -more general purpose in blade shape for a greater variety of tasks -friendly to non-knife persons (small enough and doesn't look like a talon [i.e., they ...
