I use White Lightening on my knives. I can not tell the difference between their regular and the knife-grade. The key to using it is to use VERY LITTLE (1 - 2 drops). It's the same on my bike chain... too much and you get the white wax caking-up. The right amount (repeat VERY LITTLE) and it works ju...

Thanks Ryan... I appreciate the response.

By the way... have you seen both? ... which do you like? ... I am not fussy whether I get a regular or Spydie blade... which looks best?

Dealer(s) in New England?

I've done some searches looking for dealers within a 100 mile radius of Boston, MA, Portland, ME, Concord, NH and Providence, RI. It's hard to believe, but all of them come up with no dealers. Are there really no dealers in New England? Does anybody know of any in this area? I seem to have all the i...

Native w/ Shell Inlays

I may have read the answers to these questions somewhere in the forum, but I am suffering from over-exposure (hehe) to reading the forum and can't remember. So...

What kind of locking mechanism is on the Native?

Is the Shell Inlay model made in the US or Japan?

Thanks.

Joe and Sal, Did you guys ever come to an agreement? Has Spyderco put out the resultant literature? If so, please send or e-mail me a copy. If not, is it still in the works? I find this to be the toughest area to get straight forward understandable explanations (without pulling out my old materials ...

A mass-market run of a "patriotic" knife would no longer be special... now would it?

I suggest the "time frame doesn't matter" forum run hold for the next time and it be a "patriotic" forum knife this time.

Well... nine pages of comments later... I agree that this should commemerate the recent tragedies... red/white and blue... flag, etc. Maybe the engraving should be "Remember 9/11/2001"
(I prefer that the handle not be white and the size not be whimpy.)
Count me in...

I flew from Phoenix to Boston last week. The airline staff said no problem checking my knives. I told them they were in there and they said ... no problem. There were no forms, etc. to fill out as some reports had indicated. Note that the airport restaurants no longer have any knives including plast...

I respectfully, but strongly, disagree with John's assessment of the Snap-It. The snap is in the way of the knife blade. It covers about 1/3 of the blade rendering useless. I've had and used mine for three years hiking and backpacking... great knife, terrible snap placement. I'd try the remote relea...
