The new G-10 Dragonfly has jimping added to the rear spine and finger choil. The jimping will carry over to the refined FRN version planned for the future. Perfect! I can't wait... The front liner on the Cricket really couldn't be any thinner. Putting a FRN scale over the liner would require a new ...

Jimping is an interesting thought. We thought about adding it to the choil. Where would you add jimping? sal Sal- I am a huge fan of jimping on most any knife. I have added it myself to many of my Spydies that did not have it. I would agree that the Cricket would most likely benefit from jimping on...

I've actually thought about mods and upgrade to the cricket quite a bit... Second I want some grip. Something better than the etched verson. I think a shadowboxed g10 scale on the nonlocking side would do the trick perfectly. I just ordered an SS cricket after hemming and hawing over it for a while...

Vivi- I had the same problem with an SS Robin I gave to a female friend. She told me it was so stiff she couldn't use it safely. I looked it over and she was right. Tension on the lock bar was so stiff I even felt unsafe using it. Cleaning & lubing had no measurable effect. I sent it back for he...

Is it case A (sandwhiched) or case B (everything below the line is ZDP)? Not quite sure about your diagrams, but I don't think you have it right yet. The Zdp is in fact sandwiched between 420, however the way the knife is ground means that below the lamination line you only see ZDP. The cutting edg...

They were made by Camillus on contract. A bit sub par on fit and finish, but perfectly serviceable.

You should look into a Spyderco sharpmaker. They are around $50 retail and are worth every penny. Believe me I tried a pile of other sharpeners and nothing comes close to a Sharpmaker. If you can't afford one now send your knife to Spyderco for resharpening($5) and save up for the Sharpmaker. Those ...

  • Caly Jr tip up, screw construction.
  • Grey G-10 Dragonfly, unlined or super thin liners.
  • Something flat ground in 1095 carbon steel with a :spyder: on the blade.

Thank you guys im glad that you mentiond the difference in tip up or down, i like the clip/tip configuration on the Caly 3. I would not want a knife that was tip down. Were any of the Jr s before tip up? sixheads No. They were all tip down. Don't let that discourage you though. If you like a lightw...

Several of my spydies have slight amounts of vertical movement. This should not however affect the security of their locks. My Gen 1 Delicas have less movement than my D4s.

Well, you all convinced me. I've been in the market for a gentleman's knife...One question: What are the advantages of G10 over FRN? Congrats, you won't be disappointed. I left my White d'fly in a pair of pants at work today :( I will miss it all weekend. G-10 is a bit more highly regarded by many....
