And as for the clip, are you sure it's the clip that's good? Some clips are tighter than others, and I find that that depends on how much they're "bent."

Personally I find choils annoying and cutting with your hand locked into them just feels weird to me. Plus when you grab a knife for hard use, putting your index finger inside the choil hurts. I have some kind of small problem with almost every Spyderco knife I own. For one thing, they can't grind a blade for crap. Every one of my knives (with the exception of 1 or 2) has an off-center blade due to either poor fitting of the pieces or in the case of my FRN Stretch, a hideously uneven grin...
