Re: Am I missing out on a Delica?
As for the reason that the FFG models aren't available in full Spyderedge, I think that there just may not be a huge advantage to it. Due to the way serrations are designed to cut, I don't think that having them on the FFG blade would offer any distinct advantage over the saber grind in full Spyder...

Re: Am I missing out on a Delica?
It has in the past but I believe the only SE option currently available for a Delica is combo edge. The current saber ground D4 is available in all three edge configurations (PE, CE, SE). The FFG models the OP is asking about have only ever been available in PE. As for the reason that the FFG model...

Re: Where's the new Catalog?
The new catalog is always a bit of a treat. However, because Spyderco is so transparent with us ELUs about what is coming, it's not as much of a "big reveal" as it is for me when Kershaw and Cold Steel (my other preferred companies) release their new catalogs each year.

Re: The MAP announcement
Are you saying the new MAP will cause prices for Spyderco knives to go up, when it comes to we consumers? Because from what I read, the MAP change will not actually prohibit a retailer from selling a Spyderco for a minimum price, it will just ask them to not advertise that lower price, correct? Exa...

sal,
Any info on the weight of the new Raven. The old one in G10 was 3.3 oz according to your website. Hopefully the new one is comparable.

I seem to remember that it was back around 09 or 10 when you took a leave of absence>> I vaguely remember you telling us you had to leave for a while but it's been so long that I don't remember a lot of details. But none the less it's great to hear from someone who was lively here in the mid 2000s....

Re: Lost wanderer!
Greetings All, just dropped in to say hello and see if any of the diehards are still alive and kicking. I have had some ups and downs but am now thankfully in reasonable health and am reconnecting with some old friends if you'll have me back. I see that there are some fine knives still being design...

I'm looking forward to this one in a big way, as well. I've got the S35VN N5 Ltwt and the S110V M2 Ltwt, and I absolutely love them. As a combo, they can't be beat. Can't wait to have them both in S110V.

Re: Spyderco's Abroad
I've only traveled internationally one time. I went to Sofia, Bulgaria in March/April of 2014. I took my trusty Vic Super Tinker that I've had since senior year in high school. I didnt want to risk a Spydie. Traveling domestically, I travel with a D4 and a Vic if possible. On a side note, Bulgaria w...

Re: Aus 8 Delica
Prices on these knives vary due to it being a discontinued item. I wouldn't say you overpaid. I've seen some go for more and some go for less. In the condition you described, I think the price you paid was in the right ballpark even if it's in the higher end of the ballpark. It is a great knife eith...

As a bit of a lock junkie (not a full blown one thought), I'll be excited to see this one when it gets here. It's been dangling for so long though that I'm not anxiously awaiting it.

Re: Spyderco knife in movies
Point Of No Return was on and in the part where Harvey Keitel tries to kill Brigette Fonda, he whips out some sort of Spyderco. Sort of Delica sized but seemed to have Krayton inserts. To far before my time here to identify Point of No Return.......I think that was the Americanized version of the o...
