Re: FOMO or No?
Yes FOMO. I don't think enough cash can cure it either. So, I rarely act on it. I feel it but I am mostly able to let it go.

Re: Cheap and ugly
Very nice 👍 What glue did you find that worked with HDPE? I remember trying to glue some of that stuff together for something else a while back, and that stuff does NOT like to be glued. Thanks Bolster, Thanks kennbr34, I used this glue... IMG_20230613_145951789hdpeglue.jpg The active ingredient is...

Re: Cheap and ugly
I tried paracord initially because I have a lot of it, and Mules have a lot of holes to thread/anchor to. I quickly abandoned it because it gunked up with moderate to hard use and then was difficult to clean, it retained moisture and promoted rusting on non-stainless models, and on top of all that ...

I see you, and I'll raise you... https://i.imgur.com/o8wBWNw.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/W2KYGKA.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/scXw7xw.jpeg I used the foam inserts my Shapton stones shipped with for padding and it's actually surprisingly comfortable. Even reused the little tip-holder thing Spyderco ships i...

Re: custom shop...
I'm not really that invested as I do not really have the cash to play.
I'm still interested and have skimmed my way through this thread enough to have an angle, maybe.
Customizing as Spyderco collaborative knife by a custom maker. Example, 15V BBB Shaman with burple micarta.

Dropped on my door. Hotter than a pan of cookies. I bought two, one accepts scales easy, the other will need some work.

IMG_20230602_200124739_BURST001proud.jpg Two Mule Team blades are feeling rather frisky, strutting around blank, no scales, no cord wrap, no nothing. One Mule turns to the other and asks, "What happened to that snappy blue set of scales you were wearing last week?" His Mule buddy replies,...

Re: Most Boring Discussion/Comment on Spyderco Forum?
I do this, and have done it, will do it in the past... "This or that," threads. Eg. Baton or Do not Baton. I think narrowing down so many Spyderco options to, "Like it or Hate it," is boring. It takes more work to present, "this is when and why and what I baton with and how ...

Re: If you could, would you go back in time?
I mentally try to go back in time, to the time when my parents did mail order stuff for Christmas. There was a level of trust, fill out the form, send in a check and surprise a package comes in the mail some number of weeks or months later. I do this exercise pretending that the 15v BBB Mule I am wa...

Re: Why don't you Baton?
Why don't I baton? Two reasons, 1) I live on the treeless praire where there is no bush to craft. 2) My problem solving skills surpassed "beat it with a stick" when I was five. Thanks for the reply. Both very valid reasons not to baton. And, yeah I am not trying to solve a problem either....

Re: Why don't you Baton?
I'm curious if anyone here has broken a knife or hurt themselves as a result of batonning. I've taught my kids how to split wood with their knives. But, I can't say I've ever used a Mule for this purpose. Here's my daughter learning to baton in the John Muir Wilderness (just below 10,000' where fir...

Re: MT37P - AEB-L Mule Team Performance Thread
These Halpern scales fit it the Spyderco leather sheath perfectly as that is how I store my knife. It should be noted they also fit the Spyderco Bolteron sheith perfectly as well. The scales are also reasonably priced compared to other scales I have purchased through Etsy. They are chamfered around...

Re: Why don't you Baton?
I'm still amazed that people who live in other states, get to go into forests and build fires. The reason I don't baton is that I can't legally burn split wood in the out-of-doors, living in California. Not even in my back yard! So what's the point of batoning? PS: What the heck is "manchette ...
