Some Americans can afford to hire a landscaper/lawn maintenance person to do the weeding for them. I wouldn't consider them to be "lazy" though. I know you're really just talking about those out of work or what not. I think if they had their choice most would choose to work. Slamming Ameri...

I still have several spyderco kitchen knives bought many years ago and they are still the best knives in the kitchen! Unfortunately dogs ate the handles off of both of my 4" utility knives and the 6" and my wife threw away the blades  Don't know how to respond to this other than get ...

One day we'll have a stainless steel that never gets dull, chips or rolls.

Then we'll never need to buy another knife again. LOL

I have a decent set of kitchen knives and I didn't have to travel all the way to Germany to get them. For the cost of the round trip ticket you could have bought some very well made Shun knives and had some change left over for a Lion Spy folder or other. :) My best guess would be Spyderco couldn't ...

Blade pivoting makes those marks as the knife steel is harder than the pivot pin...quite normal...but methinks you do not put much oil on this blade? The tiniest pin drop of a good oil will be just right... the pivot on my Hogue ex01 has hardened steel. I guess if I ever bought a caly 3.5 I would t...

nobody really. but, if you build it...they will come.

I recently did some trimming of some bushes that have kinda thick branches on them using an old Swedish steel fixed blade. I don't know exactly what type of carbon steel it is. But, I haven't found many steels that can equal it.

I still don't understand how sanding a circular material would increase the surface area. If you measure the stop pin with a micrometer prior to sanding(removing metal) it. Then, it would be greater than post sanding it. Thus, it would have less surface area afterwards. If you use a coarser grit on ...

Definately get the 760. You wont regret it. I own two, one first producton run that hasn't seen any use. The other has been an edc for about a year now and I still haven't grown tired of it. One of the best Ti framelocks you can get and for less than $200 is a great deal. Just FYI: "Monolock&qu...

How does sanding increase surface area?

If you have a mirror like polish on steel. Then, it will be more protected from rusting than w/o. Don't ask me why though.

So, use very fine grits and buff it well.

MORE THICKER FIXED BLADES. Pick your poison for steel material. Stainless cpm-3v, m390, elmax. Carbon (none stainless), 1095, A-1 or other would be nice. Folders? More rugged, thicker blades/handles like zero tolerance offers. OK...that's a little more than my 2 cents. Almost forget, I could do w/o ...

after seeing what militec does to protect my guns from carbon build up. I figured it must be good for my blades as well. that's for my work, collectors and tactikool blades.

for anything I plan to use for food, mineral oil it is.

regardless of the finish any decent oil will help protect it.
