congrats ryan! let us know how u like it Spencer I am very impressed so far. Such a simple knife but the attention to detail and fit and finish are something i haven't held before. I took it apart last night to clean it and just to see the internals. It's amazing how tight everything fits together....

Any of the sage series (my fav is sage 2) , techno, amd caly 3 are all solid EDC knives that are an upgrade from the delica. Have you thought about a bigger spydie?

Nice :D . How is the KME btw? For the $, I think it's worth it for sure. I got into Becker fixed blades which are very hard to sharpen on the sharpmaker (especially the BK2---it's a tank). The kme makes it much easier to sharpen larger knives and with the angle setting it takes the guess work out o...

Crappy photo, but my Becker BK14 done on my new KME sharpening system-----34 deg inclusive back bevel and 44 deg inclusive micro bevel. Finished with an ultra fine black Arkansas stone and stropblock with green compound: http://i1100.photobucket.com/albums/g410/rygleason/6D459699-D34D-4092-BE11-DC81...

Rg02, Have you looked at any of the Emersons? I have a CQC-7 and absolutely love it. It's certainly not going to win any beauty contests, but if you're looking for a hard-use type knife (and if it "has" to be a non-Spydie :p ), I'd definitely check it out. I've had mine for about two year...

DRKBC wrote:It is a great knife impossible to beat for the money IMO, great deal particularly with the new deep carry clip. Do you like the scales? That is one thing I will probably change.
I might have a blue scale made for it. Something about blue and titanium looks great IMO

No problem Ryan, I didn't mean it in a bad way. It just seems funny to see talk on a Spyderco forum about what other knife is the best to get. Not a big deal really, many have commented thru the years with similar threads. I have only been buying Spyderco for a few years and have more Non-Spyderco ...

Man this is all news to me, I wasn't aware that there were other kinds of knives. I think that I'll just stick to what works. No need to look any further. BAL--- brother I love my spydies too---- I just wanted to branch out once and I am glad I did. The zt0550 is very impressive considering I got i...

I picked up a ZT0550 and that thing is awesome! Just a tank for EDC. I also have a ZT0561 on the way. I still love my spydies but I am glad I branched out!

Not many here will know the answer to that. Taking apart spydies voids the warranty unfortunately.

That being said, have you checked YouTube????

I would recommend bladeforums if you are looking to Buy, Sell, or Trade. eBay can be good for research, but be careful of fakes. This man is smart! Sage 2 could be a tad large for sheeple. That's why I say get a dragonfly as well. I always have a smaller knife in addition of my larger EDC for sheep...

Wish I would have picked one up sooner

I just picked this up used off BF. I can't believe it took me this long to own one. Ergos, fit and finish, and cool factor(TI frame lock and scales) are awesome. If you don't own a sage 2---- do yourself a favor and get one! My poor attempt at a photo: http://i1100.photobucket.com/albums/g410/ryglea...

Do yourself a favor and get a sage 2. I just picked one up used for $95 and it is an awesome knife for office EDC and even weekend EDC. You will want to eventually get a dragonfly as well. Have you checked out the techno? It has been my main office carry since I got it about 2 months ago.

Well after some investigating I went with something cheaper---- ZT 0550. A little smaller then the 0560 and with s35vn instead of elmax. Paid only $155 so saved $100 from my budget. :D
