Re: Boots.
Been kicking these Olivers around for years. They’ve been the most solid boot I’ve owned. I like the one piece tongue that stops water ingress. Not exactly lightweight though. I’ve had my eye on a pair of Timberland Earthkeepers but can’t find them locally and won’t roll the dice on buying online du...

Re: Forum knife 2020 - final model poll
None of the models listed get me overly excited to be honest. I’ve been going through a dry spell for knife enthusiasm lately though.
Anyway, I voted Chief because that’s the only one I’d really carry.
I would have chosen lc200n too but I must have missed that poll.

Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???
My second Large 21 came in today. All I need, I sold all my other folders besides my three traditionals I have so far, and two fixed blades. https://i.imgur.com/a4Rphaa.jpg Funny you post this, lately I’ve been thinking about doing the same thing. I look at all the knives I never carry and think of...

Re: S30v chipping on new knife after first use
I've cut plenty of zip ties and thick poly banding at work with S30V knives and haven't experience any chipping yet. But...I've also learned from many of you to not twist the blade while cutting those types of things. Most of those knives have also been reprofiled at least once. This is the key for...

Yep I’ve encountered this with s30v, it took some heavy reprofiling for it to settle down.

It’s hard for me to pass up the 940. Ordinary slicer but does everything else so bloody well.

Just an update to let people know Bloke is fine. Dealing with the smoke but otherwise safe.

Re: Sage 5.2
I would take a framelock over a linerlock every day of the week but maybe not in the case of the comp’ lock. The position of the lock bar means it’s just not as functional to disengage.
I would prefer the button lock. Apologies if I’ve stepped on your toes with my suggestion Uraaguy.

Bloke’s probably outside with a hose in his hand!
This is the current status of active fires in my state, NSW, Australia. Sydney’s under there. Somewhere.

Re: Street Beat Discussion
I lusted after the micarta Street Beat for ages, It was discoed and fetching big $s so never got one. If the micarta model was to roll back around I would get one for sure. Nothing wrong with the frn model but to me, it doesn’t have the soul of the micarta model. I've handled them both and while I ...

Re: Caly 3/3.5 interest Poll
I might be interested in the 3.5. Sal has said that only the FRN model will be made in Taichung with screw construction. He also said that the original model would continue being built with pinned construction in Seki City. True. Not sure why I thought it was coming out of Taichung. So Seki it is. ...

Re: Caly 3/3.5 interest Poll
Micarta and xhp? Yes please. I don’t think bolsters work well with this design though. Screw construction would be good though. Agree on screw construction, particularly for the pivot, but no bolsters? Nickel bolsters are the cornerstone of this sprint! Spyderco is no stranger to bolsters. Smaller ...

Caly 3/3.5 interest Poll
To get a sprint run off the ground, a wise man once told me “keep typing”. So.... Who’s keen for a Caly 3 and or 3.5 sprint run with the following: - Polished linen Micarta. Black, Ivory or maroon - Nickel bolsters - Stainless steel. Coming from Taichung, so CTS-XHP? My preference would be for the 3...
