Re: Cara Cara 2 very stiff.
Check if the lockbar pivot is too tight or the lockbar has burr that rubs the liner.

The Byrd Cara Cara 2 is the closest to Pac Salt handle with FFG profile.

Re: The Delica will never die.
I think the Centofante doesn’t have the kick stopping the closed position like the Delica family. It’s possible to squeeze the blade in closed position and the edge may touch the backspacer. Probably that’s how more edge can be put instead of ricasso  .

Thank you Kristi! Just want to share my thoughts that it is difficult to segregate the politics and religion / beliefs from some of the topics such as health (beliefs) and tax treaty or trade war (politics). I did refrain from commenting on several health discussions as it is unavoidable not to go i...

Re: Today Was Sharpening Day
I reckon sharpening is like mowing lawns or washing vehicles. I put it off for as long as I can and find it quite satisfying when it's done. I like sharpening, but dislike reprofiling. I enjoy the results of it though. Getting a super sharp edge on a knife is always satisfying. I find re...

Re: CPM M4 vs K390
Short answer from my experience, Yes. I just wouldn't be able to get the edges as crisp at 1000 grit without a type of bonded diamond/cbn. The diamond/CBN compounds on leather are a nice touch as well after the edge is very very sharp on the stones, the strop gives it a boost in the finesse. Coated...

Re: What do you sharpen with?
I use DMT and Spyderco UF rod. For hogging off metal, use cheap 10$ DMD diamond from China. Most importantly is to understand what is sharpening and the relevant aspects, so here’re some good threads: https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/what-is-sharpening-a-knife-about-2015-updates.1014274/ https://...

Re: Flicking backlocks - who does like it? And motivational post
I recently got a Stretch 2 and I love it, but it's action is too stiff for me to finger flick open. I'm not saying it can't be done, obviously some people can, I'm just not one of them. On a somewhat unrelated note, knives that I CAN flick open like the PM2 and Para3 are, because of the compression...

Re: My choice: I went with the Salt 2 Wharncliffe.
I probably have read most if not all threads on H1 SE vs PE, work hardening, etc. here and over BF. That doesn’t make me an expert but I just cannot find conclusive answers on the work hardening part. If sharpening causes it, why not on PE? Aside from initial claim of making SE teeth work hardened i...

I’ve had it apart and back multiple times. As easy as Endura.
Is it back now or you just don’t want to bother?

Better sending it in.
A Vamplier may be able to extract it after the clip is off but at risk of marring the handle finish.

Used my Cara Cara to open some boxes (mostly tape but cut into some of the cardboard wall/side). Cleaned up and touched up on UF rod, it’s back to shaving my face nicely.

Re: Who's for replacing ZDP-189 with HAP40 laminate in regular production?
I'd vote no. I actually think ZDP is one of the most underrated steels in the Spyderco line up. I think the ZDP models should stay in ZDP. Agree ... and why isn’t there a ZDP 189 wharnie Delica? :( I’m for ZDP. It’s unique. I think it was said it’s coming? https://www.spyderco.com/forumII/viewtopic...
