Re: Show us your lanyards!

Pocket clip delete and fob adaptation. The rattle snake knot hangs perfectly on the edge. Quick deploy from the mouth of the pocket without being swallowed. Image[/url]

Re: Show off your latest purchase

Never seen the Perrin PPT before, but it's gorgeous and I might have to add it to my "to buy" list :spyder: How's the size/ergos compared to the Native 5? Sorry for the late reply. Its got a little more real estate than the native 5. Both great knives, but theres something about the way t...

Re: Brainstorming Pocket CLIP alternatives

Hey guys, Here's a fob I've started using, a doubled celtic button knot. I burn the cord on the presentation side of the lanyard hole to make a stop. The fob doesn't loop over the backspacer, which I don't like, and it hangs out of the pocket more naturally, imho. Thanks for looking! Later, Don I t...

Re: Brainstorming Pocket CLIP alternatives

Well it looks like I've entered the world of "fobs", how did I get here.. Plus, side this rattle snake tail dealio is holding the medium size and weight spydies nicely at the top of pocket. Somewhat fitting for the Ouroboros as well. Sssssssss The testing continues https://s25.postimg.org/...

Re: Brainstorming Pocket CLIP alternatives

Why are people so concerned about deep carry? People can tell you have a knife either way, and why are you all so concerned with someone knowing you have a pocket knife in the first place? Carrying some IWB with an untucked shirt is going to be worlds more discreet than any deep carry clip is. Kniv...

Re: Brainstorming Pocket CLIP alternatives

The clip keeps the o ring in place, and it's right at the top of my pocket, and folds down on the fabric, or can be folded to the inside.
Hope this gives you some ideas.

Thanks Don, very minimal pull I like it.

Re: Brainstorming Pocket CLIP alternatives

Well as far as alternatives go, I've tried "suspension clips" and I've tried lanyards with other kinds of clips on them like S biners, but at best they only worked for me when used on small knives. I tend to carry medium to large knives so they end up being close to as long as my pocket i...

Re: Brainstorming Pocket CLIP alternatives

Well, for me the pocket clip is the best thing to happen to the knife since adding a folding pivot to it. Before clips I only carried knives when I was doing an activity that actively needed a knife like hunting or fishing. I generally hate loose things bouncing around in my pockets and equally hat...

Re: Brainstorming Pocket CLIP alternatives

I always removed clips and just carried inside my pocket for years. Now I use the clips and my knives stay so much cleaner (I do landscaping, tree work, etc). Whatever works! I can see the all those earthy small bits being a problem! Yes keeping them out of the deep end of the pool and free from de...

Re: Brainstorming Pocket CLIP alternatives

Mega Nerd Specs & Methodology: 1. Paracord thickness: I found that the standard 550 type paracord doesn't really like to bend, given the weight of the bead (pull) showing out of pocket. However 2mm paracord feels virtually invisible and bends nicely over the pocket. The bend is the most importan...
