Re: TeroTuf!
Interesting. From a few closeups I can see threads coming off the material. For those of you with long term daily usage does this continue to break down? The material looks like it would absorb rit dye like a sponge and probably any other liquid as well. As for me I think I will pass G10 and FRN ar...

Make one of these in Maxamet however and I will purchase. This and a Native 5 will likely be my first REX-45 steel.
Looking at upcoming REX-45 version.

MAXAMET!
Within the last month I purchased two Spyderco models I already own..... This time in Maxamet. So very pleased I did. I have seen Videos saying Spyderco gave Maxamet a stone wash to save belts going for satin finish. I do not know if this is true but with the way Spyderco stonewashed a blade I say k...

Re: Maximet PM2 at Blade H.Q. I bought one how about you?
Girlfriend accidentally rusted up some M4 in the kitchen I was like WTF Dang it!! From that day on she swore no stainless around her! Si I said honey if it does not have a yellow handle assume it will rust. This morning she opened a Diet Coke it **** out of the can and landed on my Maximet Native. S...

Re: Any longtime users of the G-10 Stretch 2 (ZDP-189)?
If you are in the market and can take some more VG-10 look at the straight Spine Stretch. Having owned both, I do prefer the Straight Spine Stretch. But I think this is mostly to do with the "look" of it. In practice, I don't think either really has an advantage. Agreed, was offering an a...

Lately the Maxamet Native gets all my pocket time. Hey Sal love the stone wash on the Native and PM2.
Noticed tape gunk does not stick as much as on satan and is easier to get off.

Re: Any longtime users of the G-10 Stretch 2 (ZDP-189)?
I have this model and honestly ZDP is not a bad steel but I would not pay extra to have it. The blade is a bit longer than the standard FRN model. The handle will not be an issue with extra large mitts but the FRN is the better of the two. If you are in the market and can take some more VG-10 look a...

Re: Community Sharpening Journal
I’ve been a little reluctant to do this because it sounds super messy and I don’t have a solid grasp of what grit loose carbide to use compared to the grit of the stone(s). Advice appreciated! This should help I have their kit which is not in stock but it will tell you what to use with what. https:...

Re: Which Spyderco stainless is least prone to accidental edge damage?
VG-10 I have hit staples with it and no chipping.
I have had tips snap of S30V and have had chips come out of S35VN blades. S90V however has proven pretty darn tough.

Re: Spyderco Caribbean Blade mod
Hey Lance, the knife itself isn’t my cup of tea, which is neither here nor there but it looks a bit strange with the “clip” in the spine and I can’t help thinking if you were running it blade out under a fish’s skin or something the tip would want to bury itself. I don’t know. How you grinding it w...

Hey spy,
Have not used either but the first thing that comes to mind is they are both only 6 inches.
Can’t recommend either of these but can say get a 140 grit Atoma I have all of these in different grits and they work fantastic!

Thanks I was wondering why there were so many and it turns out the Counter Puppies inflated the figure with their different options. Cool idea on those BTW.

Re: Spyderco 2020 Lists: Delivered & Upcoming
8 spydies have been delivered in January, 10 in February. Seems like a slow start - but then again, when are we ever satisfied with the pace and quantity? Oh great RamZar, if it's not too much trouble, could you dig up the respective numbers from 2019 and 2018 maybe? In 2020 we had 8 new...
