Re: Your Favorite Obscure Spyder

To me the one that qualifies is the Ulize. Never seen one in person, never could handle one and prices in the secondary market are crazy right now. I love its shape, specs, materials, lock, everything about it. I dream for a Sprint of that model, the perfect would be H1 or LC200N, SE and PE both. T...

Re: LionSteel TM1

I haven't really tested the strength of the TM1 backlock, but it feels very solid. The Native's is also very solid and I don't experience much of the vertical play inherent to backlocks. I haven't noticed any play in the TM1's lock. Were the lock to fail, your fingers would probably be safer on the ...

Re: LionSteel TM1

The Native 5 is probably my favorite Spydie. The TM1 is a much bigger knife. Blade is just over 3.5 inches long and about 4.5mm thick. Native 5 has a blade under 3 inches long with a thickness of 3mm I believe. Ergos are similar with no thumb ramp, but the TM1 is fatter in the hand. It's also heavie...

LionSteel TM1

Just bought my first non-Spyderco folder in a while and it is a beauty. I've seen surprisingly little about this knife online, so I thought I'd share with you guys. The LionSteel TM1's handle is milled from a single piece of micarta. It features a very solid-feeling backlock and thick bladestock. Th...

Count me as another one in favor of a standard (as opposed to wire) clip. I like the look of wire clips, but I find that it's so much easier to clip a standard clip to my pocket one-handed than it is a wire clip.

Are you talking about the Cruwear Manix 2?

I can't get into the Rubicon. Just looks to toy-like to me. The Schempp Bowie looks like it'd be comfortable in hand. I'm with WireEdge Roger in that the S110V Manix 2 is the only one of these I'm really interested in owning. The PSF27 used on the Bradley Bowie has piqued my interest. Never heard of...

Looks like the Manix 2 is now FFG. I'm sure that will make a lot of folks happy. Tatanka looks interesting. I'd like to see a diagram of the "Power Lock."

EDIT: Never mind. Found the diagram in the back of the catalog.

That's weird that you can't see the pic, Radioactive. I can see it in Chuck's post and in your quote of Chuck's post.

If you carry a ZT 0561, then I don't think the Manix 2 XL would be too big for EDC. It is thinner than the 561 and actually ways a little less than it. The Manix 2 XL does stick up pretty far out of the pocket, though. Might be something to think about if you're in an environment that isn't very acc...

Just handled one today at the Outdoor Retailer Show in SLC. It flips open effortlessly. It's also easy to open using the Spydie hole. I was very impressed by it. Really cool texture on the CF scale, too.

Yeah, that's probably the issue. I'm sure it will get smoother over time. I wish I could remember what my regular Manix 2 felt like when I first got it.

Holy cow the Manix 2 XL is big!

I've looked at the specs and realize that it does say XL in the model name, but the XL just seems bigger than its measurements. I just traded my black Native 5 for one since I have a forum Native now. I like it, but I swear it's way bigger than my Military (even though putting them side-by-side show...
