Re: Spyderco and Cold Steel "collaboration" of sorts.

I am most interested in seeing how the Civillian style knife wears with 4 mm stock and CTS XHP, vs the 3-3.5mm VG-10. Like, will the tip break as easily? Will it hold up to any normal use? Etc. I do prefer Spyderco's Civillian from a glance, though, I would like it to have a reversable pocket clip a...

Re: Spyderco and Cold Steel collaboration of sorts.

Kinda old news. How is this old news? The second version was just announced today. There was an original Talon, but it was in my opinion, a much different design. I was more referring to the title and the reverse S shaped blade. Ah, okay. I would love to hear (see technically), Mr. Sal Glesser's in...

Spyderco and Cold Steel "collaboration" of sorts.

I found this interesting, I don't mean to promote Lynn C. Thompson's products over Spyderco's in any capacity. I thought this was worth posting about since they are using Spyderco's design (For the record I prefer Spyderco's Matriarch/Civillian over this). http://www.coldsteel.com/Product/22BTS/&quo...

Re: trouble sharpening benchmade S30v on sharpmaker

It's because of Benchmades obtuse and shallow microbevel (Not really obtuse, it's acute by angle definition but it's obtuse in the sense that it's quite thick). In fact, Benchmade's S30v according to most sources is softer than Spyderco's and the few other brands that use it. (I don't think it's Ger...

Re: What dulls a knife?

Corrosion / oxidation will attack the apex first because it is exposed on both sides of the apex. sal Hi Sal, I remember some old timers (Long since passed on) that used to let the lint build up in their slip joints so they could add a few drops of oil to the lint because they said it helped reduce...

Hi SEF, As with any knife, they will cut just fine. Steel and edge are good. Difficulties arise mostly from public that are afraid of Balisongs and switchblades. As well as LEO's enforcing the law. sal I've known people who like and prefer to carry Balisongs/Butterfly knives over other types. And y...
