Question - there is another YT video showing spinewhacks on an M2 in which the lock holds. It wasn't preceded by heavy cutting tasks or overstrikes, which could be all the difference - but the point of my question is whether there's anything about that video and your experience that suggests that t...

Yeah, I completely understand. Just so you know, I do Quality Assurance at work so I'm a bit anal about testing. Like I said, you need multiple copies of the same knife to do the sort of testing I would do. I'm just trying to think of ways to do it with one knife. I still think it was odd that it f...

Ankerson, I think what you are doing with your tests is great. It sounds like you are honestly trying to test the knives in a consistent and similar manner. One thing that I’ve seen in a few posts and in my own, is an opportunity for you to improve your tests. Typically in product testing, you want...

Plain Edge is the best way to go, just keep it sharp and you won't have any issues.

Very good demonstrations, Jim. Hard use depends on the design of the tool, not the marketing. What are you going to do when you use up the rest of that rotting log? Thanks. :) It will take me awhile to go through it yet. :D If a knife is marketed as a hard use knife it is on my list and will possib...

Hey i just wanna make it clear, i'm not bustin your balls or anything and i appreciate all you're doing...i just feel like it's a lot to ask of a folder. I think it's pretty **** amazing the other knives held up to the test and i'd definitely take that into consideration if i were in the market to ...

Ankerson, Just a suggestion. Is the main point of the test for the blade play that may develop during hard use or the ability to withstand spine wack tests? I submit that using the same knife for both tests will pollute your testing. I understand that you're going to have one knife to test with, bu...

I like to keep my ZDP blades at 17" inclusive. Wanted to go even lower but the blade body (Para CPMD2) got really scratched up if my hand is not perfectly steady. So I decided not to ruin the finish of my Stretch ZDP and kept it at 17 degree inc. instead. Don't stop at 30 inc. degrees as you a...

Once you get it sharp just make sure to touch it up and don't let it get too dull.

I have an Endura 4 FFG in ZDP-189 and it does hold an edge extremely well.

Did anyone else notice that the M2 decimated that piece of wood? I watched his other videos, and either he didn't put the other knives through the paces like he did the M2 or the M2's cutting ability is far superior to anything else he tested. Seriously, go back and watch all his videos and look at...

Glad to hear it, and welcome to the forum Ankerson! I look forward to hearing more after inspection. I am hoping that they can shed some light on this once they get it. :) Thanks, I figured I had better come over here once I heard what was going on so I could answer any questions etc. :D I tested 5...

The Manix 2 will be sent to Spyderco on Monday for inspection.

I don't think it should have failed like that either, it a nice knife.

Might have been defective.

Eric Glesser will be looking at it. :)
