Re: Seki City models disappointing

I've never had a problem spydie flicking any of the normal sized Seki back locks (Delica or larger). Dragonflies and such tend to go flying across the room.

Re: Honey Badger Knives

Their first model is a clone of the Maxace Balance, and this new blade shape looks like it copies the Tasman Salt. I am not impressed.

Re: Authenticity questioned on knife I sold

Your pics are way too small to authenticate the knife. I will say that the date code on the box (Nov. 2012) matches the CQI state of the knife (screwed stop pin, small lanyard tube, single pivot screw with domed pin on show side, etc). The Millie has had high fidelity pre-CQI counterfeits for many y...

Re: Which model has impacted your preferences the most?

The Native Chief completely killed my interest in sub-4" folders. Unfortunately, Spyderco only makes a couple 4"+ models that interest me, which has caused me to examine other brands.

Re: Any more true MBC knives in the pipeline

So what about all the new-production foreign-made switchblades and balisongs that are being openly sold on the Internet and through dealers? They are being imported in violation of the Customs regulation. It's that simple. Maxace is a major Chinese manufacturer of high end balisongs. Their balis ar...

Spyderco does already manufacture knives that you can not possess or carry in most states, like the Autonomy.
The Autonomy and other full size automatics are currently legal to open carry in 36 states, soon to be 37.

Re: Any more true MBC knives in the pipeline

I'm aware of Spyderco's past legal troubles with imported balisongs. Balisongs are not double-edged fixed blades. Cold Steel imports many thousands of double-edged daggers from Taiwan. Steel Will imports double-edged daggers from Italy. Boker has double-edged daggers manufactured in Germany and Chin...

Re: Any more true MBC knives in the pipeline

We probably wouldn't make a double edged model, especially if it has to be imported. Illegal. How do companies like Boker and Steel Will get away with it? I have many double-edged daggers that were produced in other countries, marketed and distributed by major manufacturers, and sold in the open by...

Re: Hori Hori

Nisaku probably makes the best commonly available hori-hori. The 800 series has a polymer handle that's much better than 600 series with wood handles. Model numbers ending in '1' are made of Daido DSR1K6, which is an AUS-6 equivalent. Models ending in '0' are made of some anonymous stainless butter ...

Re: Left handed preference?

I'm left-handed. I prefer RH liner, frame and comp locks to LH variations. I have no trouble closing them one-handed, or swinging them shut in a single operation. Sorry I am only able to post a picture , but should be able to give one an idea how I close a comp lock righty as a lefty . With the fing...

Re: Seeking info on fake

Like I said, it's a counterfeit PM2, not a Para 3. Para 3 counterfeits have only been available for less than a year, and last I checked they didn't come in orange. The burnt orange Rex 45 PM2 does *not* look like the catalog photo. The orange of the counterfeit is a bright safety orange, which is v...

Thanks for the response. Any particular reason for your confidence?
- I own many Shamans.
- Literally every detail is correct.
- There aren't any Z-Wear PM counterfeits.

Both knives are genuine. Sprints and exclusives are typically not faked.
