Re: The curious case of the LW Manix 2
out of curiosity, how do you close your Manix? Nothing exotic. The standard way seen out there - two fingers on the cage, butt of the knife in my palm. Am I the only one who thinks that the cage rides much smoother on the G10 model, compare to the FRCP? It feels like it gets more snagged on the FRC...

Re: What a knife! KW exclusive Green Military CTS 204p
That is a very nice picture, looks like you put some thought into it...background is perfect for the green handles. Thanks. Not much thought. Just got lucky. So, the question is, will there be another Military in your future? The Ti/CF KW exclusive is another great specimen. Or perhaps the soon to ...

Re: The curious case of the LW Manix 2
I had an up and down relationship with the LW Manix; still do, I guess. I had the all black BD1 version as one of my first :spyder: I appreciate the size/weight aspect, as well as the ergonomics. But unless my hands are swollen from some kind of a manual labor or exercise, that thing was pretty slip...

Re: What Are the Must have Spydercos for Newbies?
Small, medium, and large. Too many options in the small department, but the Caly is as good as any.
If I was to start from scratch, knowing what I know now, this (or one of the many flavors of the Military and PM2) is all I need,

Re: Spyderco Photo of the Week Contest!
Not too many entries this week, but I did choose couple that appealed to me. Delica domination. Attila's shot takes the win. In addition to the crisp pic, the knife mimicking the rebar, or vice versa, is art. https://i.imgur.com/BjxsquM.jpg Runner up is the shot by brumledb. Little bit biased here, ...

We need more pics! There are six. Ten would be good. Come-on, post some of those :spyder: pictures.

Re: A Back-Up Unit ( BUU): With An Opening Hole Too
A true BUU would be the same knife. Maybe you pull it out once in a while to examine and enjoy, but otherwise it would essentially be NIB knife. Actually, you could probably rotate it in, as the other one is waiting to be sharpened. I don't have anything like that. But I do have BUUs - duplicates (o...

Re: 52100 Steel
... I never take my non-stainless knives running so I usually take my S30v PM2... For me, it's usually the M390 PM2. But since I did the blade swap, this one has the strongest detent of all my PM2s. I mean unusually strong. Still smooth as butter, flickable, and all that, but it takes more force to...

Re: 52100 Steel
As long as you have even a very thin layer of oil on the blade, you can keep it from cording. I used forehead grease in a pinch. There are some developed patterns, from food stuff and other moist cuts. But the entire blade has darkened quite a bit, compare to the the way it came. I didn't dip it int...

Re: Updated shaman sprint steel poll
The Shaman wasn't really on my radar, but with that combination, specifically the micarta handle, I will be picking one up. Something different from Spyderco. Although I do have couple of knives in CRUWEAR, and I do like the steel, I would prefer to see something different. But, the micarta will lik...

Re: How and Where i carry my Spyderco delica 4.
Over 50% of time, my knives are clipped at 3:17 - 3:26 IWB :D Seriously, there is a sweet spot for comfort right behind the hip. Whether for concealment, lack of pockets, or preserving your front pocket from wear, this is where my knife rides most of the time. If I am doing something when I need to ...

Re: Spyderco Photo of the Week Contest!
Thank you Spydergirl! Thanks Joey! Hey, don’t sweat it. All I do is pick something of interest to me as backdrop, have good lighting and a clean lens (especially on a phone), put the knife in focus, take the pic (or a few, from slightly different angles), post one. Looking forward to your entry this...

Re: CPM Rex 45 Para 2 !!
Got mine yesterday from Knivesplus, went to move the pocket clip and looks like the screws are stripped! Never seen this before I wonder if this was a return. Happened to me twice. Not that they were returned, but I stripped the screws. I think the screws are short so they don’t interfere with the ...

Re: My PM2 story...
Cool story.
We all started somewhere. Similarly, for me it was a loss of a folder I had for 20 years (Gerber Covert, which I later found), that led me to my first Spyderco. The PM2. It is my favorite folder to this day.

Re: Well, the Para 3 buggered up my plans.
^^ As far as I know, the state of CA does not have restrictions on pocket/folding knives. I know there is some confusing language in the code, and ultimately any action taken depends on the specifics of the incident. But in general, there are no restrictions, other than switchblades and assisted kni...
