Re: Military/Manbug power combo!

Military/Caly 3 is my go to.

In terms of a fancy one, one that is available and not yet in my possession, the CF Chaparral.

Re: Cost Cutting on Sprderco's Higher End Models, Why?

Hi Sverre, It moves enough to be a problem (tolerances, holes, nested liners, etc.). I'm pushing for a Micarta Shaman at this time. We're machining some handles to test. We'll need some time to test. The problems have come up with Micarta machined in a high humidity environment and shipped to a dry...

Re: What's your opinion on customizing your knives?

Changing the pocket clip orientation on my PM2s, as it comes the 'wrong' way from factory ;) If adjusting action and centering is considered customization, then there is that. Once in a while, custom pocket clip or modified stock clip. Scale swap on my PM2s to match my style. And although I tried cu...

I only have one stainless PM2. I have been waiting for a 204P flavor. I think this will do just fine.

Re: Replacing the love of my life (PM2)

I am a huge PM2 fan, specifically the cruwear. If it was me and I knew for certain that I would only keep one knife, I would get the PM2. But if I was to get another one somewhere down the line, I would definitely try the Manix

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

Man, that looks like good times lol. May I ask how your Cruwear PM2 performs as a carver? And is that a mirrored edge you have or do mine eyes deceive me? PM2 is my absolute favorite model, and I’ve been using my pair of 52100’s for all sorts of tasks, one with a patina for reactive materials and t...

Re: Sprint Runs and the Abysmal Aftermarket.

No matter what the aftermarket is, or what sprint runs are, I would hope that Spyderco is looking in to these and seeing whether or not they are leaving a lot of sales on the table. If for ex I have a 204p sale of 300 to 500 knives and they sell out in hours, is Spyderco leaving 1500 to 3000 knives...

Dang! You have me beat! I've been cutting on a block of wood (3"x2"x5") on and off all summer. All I have to show for it is a dowel rod that's approx 5/8" dia. x 5". Trying to make a toothpick I guess. :D
Good toothpicks are hard to come by.

^^ Ha!

I have some points with KC and I thought, you know, with $20 off, why not, let's do it. Then I thought about the green HAP40 version of this knife.

Here I am, empty handed... again...

Re: Caly 3.5 (at last)

One of those knives (probably the only one) that has been in my shopping cart several times. Not sure what I am waiting for. I like Caly 3 a lot, and I am confident 3.5 would be a hit - looking at the ZDP CF model.

A sprint/exclusive would certainly do the trick.

Re: Why did the market want heavier knives?

I am pretty sure I can loose 15lbs. So I don’t sweat having an extra ounce (IWB PM2 vs something smaller) even on longer runs or rides. Spyderco is good about making knives lighter than they appear. Someone who handles my Military for the first time is always surprised how light weight it is for its...

Re: Would you buy more or less Spydercos if they were all made in the same steel?

... and it's awfully pretty having them all lined up in single file.... Ain't that the truth. Variety is part of it, for sure. More steel option than any other brand (as far as I am aware) lends the knife thing to become a fun hobby. I had a handful of knives most of my life. Really using only one ...

Re: The curious case of the LW Manix 2

I thought you had a S110v lightweight? Regardless of preferences, the Manix2 LW is a standout design. One is always in my hiking bag as a backup, as well as the one in the console of my truck. I have a similar relationship with the DF2... I like to keep one within reach. I suppose it would never ha...
