Re: ZDP 189

I've been hoping to see a ZDP189 Police since 2009 or so, back when the Police 3 came out. I'd buy a ZDP189 Police 4 in a heart beat. IMO the Police 4 needs a run in some sort of stainless steel, why not ZDP189? It'd be that or VG10 I'd imagine. If a man could really dream, peel ply carbon fiber / ...

Re: Cutting the Cord: Life Without Television

One month ago, I canceled telephone land line and Directv, my satellite TV provider. More and more tech savvy young people are "cutting the cord" using other devices and services. For an old timer like me (68) reaching for the remote is a reflex action, muscle memory, habit. So far, I've ...

If you want a Cruwear Millie, look in Bento Box

Re: Must-have Millies?

The BladeHQ exclusive Military M4 with Natural G-10 is still available. Yeah I know, thanks. I'm in the process of ordering one now. Requires human involvement on their end since you can't buy from them from here using the website. I just picked up my k390 P4 at the post office. I have to stop this...

Re: Must-have Millies?

Knivesplus has the 52100. Don't want to start anything here but bentoboxshop has both. There's probably others but those 2 came up in a quick search. "On a trial basis, we are making all of our products available to international buyers. The cost for shipping and handling is $45.95 USD to Cana...

Re: Must-have Millies?

M4 and 52100 are my favorites. I have read a bunch of your posts where you said you loved your 52100 and I get the impression you work outdoors. Is rust an issue on these steels in a folder? I don't live in a humid place but I get the creeps thinking about rust where I can't see it. It absolutely i...

Re: Must-have Millies?

I threw in with Cruwear earlier because it is such a great steel but in reading more of your posts I would suggest the 52100. It's actually my favorite Millie. It sharpens to a razor pretty easily and devlops a patina really fast. That should help with the high humidity but it does require some mai...

Re: Must-have Millies?

52100, cruwear, m4, 204p and s90v are still available. Also the both ti models (s30v) are on closeout sales and knifeworks still has their s90v with cf and ti. All of them are either sprints, exclusives or discontinued so if you are a collector it's not hard to argue that they are all must have mil...

Re: Must-have Millies?

You seem worried about corrosion so why not the DLC Military? I'm not worried about corrosion generally. I am concerned about steels that people here have said are prone to rusting or pitting, in a folding knife. What's offensive about a serrated knife? I can't answer your questions because they mi...

Re: Must-have Millies?

Can't believe the 204P's haven't sold out. Roger must have ordered a bunch'o these. I'm betting people just aren't crazy about that green. It's hard to figure, isn't it? I though it was a great choice. I do feel the eye burning clip really looks out of place. Wish they had built it with green hardw...

Re: Must-have Millies?

I would suggest an SE Millie next. Even in S30V it is a great combination. They can still be found if you hunt for them. I'm not a fan of SE at all, would not buy an SE Millie. Combo, yes. Well you have a Pac Salt and that is very similar, though in my uses the SE and FFG combo seems to mesh well t...

I need a Cru-Wear version so yeah, count me in. But honestly would prefer G10 probably. Don't care, wrap it up, I'm taking one home

Re: Folding Knives for Cutting Bread for Picnics, Etc.

Pacific Salt SE is the obvious choice for this. Won't rust, cuts bread well because of the serrations, is long and strong enough for most food preparation chores etc. I don't know if you can slice a loaf with it like a really long, dedicated bread knife would but it's a darned good generalist. Not p...
