Re: 2017 - Lightweight/FRN Chaparral

The Chaparral has always been my most favorite offering from Spyderco. No other Spyderco feels as good in my hand and no other looks more esthetically pleasing to the eye to me. I love the fact the the blade doesn't protrude at the hole like the other Spyderco knives. You love the way they filled i...

Re: Sebenza v. Sage 2 (Fit and Finish)

I bought my Sage 2 to replace a sml Sebenza that was regretfully sold.

For my hand that fits well in most size large gloves, the Sage when needed can provide a more secure grip than the Sebenza.

From the point of aesthetics, the leaf profile of the Sage, is a little too round for my taste.

Got tired after 46 sec. Clue me in: I didn't see it raise its head once. The mouth on a HH that size is not big.

Re: We need more Wharncliffes!

I’d really like to see more thin/narrow gentleman’s knives like the Air please. It seems like the Swick, Jazzlica and Yo2 fit the bill very well already for other size ranges. I need to put my vote in for this---no changes, just an improved Air, a more economical steel. It would be a perfect replac...

Re: I'm going over to Buck

Oh good Lord yes. Heaps and heaps of them. The place I live has probably one of the densest per capita populations of preppers/conspiracy theorists in the world. Many of the ex patriots who live here actually moved here as part of their prepping plan. There are dozens if not hundreds that would fit...

Just checked. The machined ti Military is gone, and while a bit relieved, am also at the same time surprisingly sad.

Re: Mar Family coming back with knives designed by Mr. Mar

the Falcon is a classy, sleek and elegant design that I can picture being carried by a ship's captain, or some high-rank member of the crew, as to be used in parties, celebrations and nights on the boat's deck looking for an occasion to pull out such a beauty of a knife and cut a loose thread, peel...

Re: I'm going over to Buck

I jumped on the bandwagon pretty quick, with two 110's from the late 60's to the late 70's. A 119 was used as often as not as a camp knife through the 80's. Always had the impression that Buck set the stage for the next era, of more progressively innovative production knife making led by companies l...

Looks like its the same color as the S110V M2 LW. :)
The S110v M2 LW is blue and the Chaparral LW is gray

Gray is good!

I might have missed something but looks like the OP in the space of one post, got a load off his chest in a civil manner, shared his future pursuits, and then true to his manifesto he moved on?

Re: Name a Spyderco knife you fell out of love with ;)

The PM2 of which I owned several, first replaced by a NOS GEN 1 Endura, then with the Manix 2 LW.

I would come back to it in a heartbeat, if offered in a L-L LW wire clipped version.

Re: Terms: Lightweight, Linerless, etc.

Not all FRN folders are linerless. Manix 2 LW - no liners. Delica/Endura - FRN w/ inset steel liners. Lightweight typically refers to FRN handle material. Linerless means just that. An example of a linerless Non-FRN would be the Manix 2 Back Lock or the Native 5 Exclusive in S90V and Green G10. It ...

Re: 2017 - Lightweight/FRN Chaparral

Do we have any idea what the pattern will be on the FRN? I love the bi-directional texturing but on a gents folder like this I wouldn't mind something smoother, say something like the Centofante 3 or even the Urban/Pingo/Spy-DK. Afiak, this still from the Shot show vid is the only clue: https://c1....

Still have my 80's Falcon Talon. It used to be green believe it or not.

I lusted heavily for a SERE when it first came out--couldn't afford it then. Still want one, so I propose that a Spyderco homage to Al Mar would be very, very cool. :D

Re: Discontinued For 2018 - OFFICIAL List

I contacted KC and asked them why e.g. the Southard folders are not yet discounted yet. Here‘s what they replied: „We are currently working with Spyderco to lower prices on these items. Please keep an eye on our site for drops in the price!“ I decided I will not get the Lilˋ Lionspy. I‘m hoping for...
