I was thinking that if I needed to cut some webbing or rope or just something tough it would work better. I also had it as a back-up to my Millie in case it was lost or damaged or just severely dulled while I was out and couldn't sharpen for a while. I hate it when a plain edge just slides on stuff ...

I think the Ti Millie was behind schedule a number of months. They and it's rarer brother the fluted Ti are still elusive these days.

because I happened to like patina, apparently I am not alone... http://www.spyderco.com/forums/showthread.php?58681-Show-Your-Patina ! It'll still patina, and I think it'll still look cool as a patina strip behind the edge. We'll just have to see when they come out. You can bet mine will have a dar...

I agree, the back spring isn't too much of an issue especially with the one-piece handles.

I suppose that could be useful on a straight spines blade like the Millie.

At first I was really disappointed with the size if the Domino (too small) but after comparing it to the Manix2, the blade is 6mm shorter but with 1mm more of edge length. I can deal with that. It's still on top of my list. I was originally thinking it was a USA model but Tiawan is probably a smart ...

I did own a CE Millie and I was the best CE because of its length. That said I still prefer PE or maybe full SE.

I imagine the combo edge holds up the same as PE as far as the coating. It's not too hard to sharpen; I like the USA serrations better then the sharper Japanese serrations. That said, I don't prefer CE and neither do most buyers on Bladeforums or Ebay. If you like CE, you should be happy, If you're ...

Lots of good info and opinions in this thread. It seems to me that a thin blade would be ideal if you consider a knife for SD. I base that on how scary a thin wharncliff would be (example: a replaceable utility blade knife like http://m.homedepot.com/p/Husky-Folding-Lock-Back-Utility-Knife-21113/100...

I vote GB as well. It's a great knife. I actually prefer the G-10 Millie over the Ti. The Ti is a little heavier and less grippy. If they ever had a production half and half ti & G-10, I'd be all over it. Consider the G-10 and save some coin too.

I don't have any experience with the Vallotton.

Even their current production items are very high. Is that MSRP? IDK how they sell anything.

My Dad's Caly 3 had a bit of a grinding noise when opening and closing. When i held the lock in i noticed that the opening and closing was much smoother and made no grinding noises. I put a ton of lube on the lock faces and actuated the blade a gazillion times. Then used compressed air to blow out ...

I've rebeveled of course but yes, the final edge was down with brown rods. I need to really watch my strokes and have a really light touch on the stones to get it that way with 20CP. I made that vid before I rebevel to a lower angle because I want to see if there's a difference in getting it that s...
