Hey, I like the name... At least the correctly spelled version...

I guess Glamdring or Sting would be good names considering the forum...

Alas... Still no new site. How about someone posting the IP address so I can use it directly without putting the "text" name.

Please???

How about someone who can get the site posting the IP address so we can enter that directly, rather than trusting an outdated DNS lookup???

Sal, Thanks for the reply. I guess I should go ahead and get the big one then. I prefer medium sized knives, but I guess I need a big one anyway. Will the Military Jr. be proportional to the large one in blade width, or will the blade be just as wide, just shorter (like the Calypso Jr.)?

Military Jr.

Hi Sal and everyone...

Is the Military Jr. still to be produced? Any word on if/when it will be released?

Hope I'm not opening a can of worms by asking this...

Interesting...

I understand the process of stropping to draw out a burr like Sal was talking about, but does stropping with an abrasive on the strop like Jeweller's Rouge (or aluminum oxide powder, as a friend uses) actually draw out a burr, or just polish down the edge?

I do not have a Native, but I have a Calypso Jr. Micarta version and a Calypso Jr. Lightweight. This is a really great knife. It has quickly become my favorite Spyderco and daily carry...

I guess that makes me an aficianado... <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle> I really like the design of that knife. I particularly like the circular cutaway where the top edge of the blade meets with the handle when open. I like how when the knife is closed, that cutaway &...

FRN question

This may be a stupid question, but what color is FRN before the pigment is added? I was thinking it would be really awesome to have a Calypso Jr. Lightweight with a translucent FRN handle. The handles could maybe be tinted with colors, or left clear, kind of like the iMac look. I suppose that the 'F...

It would be really great if there was a "prototypes" page where pictures of up-and-coming models were shown. You could even allow people to answer survey questions and etc. about them to get more feedback. This might be a lot of trouble to develop, but you could perhaps start a new "f...

Well, that scene is only about 5 seconds (if that) in length, and there are no steps given. I did follow the sharpening steps nad I got my knife super sharp. I think part of the trick is to hold the paper bent slightly so that the bend gives it enough rigidity that you can cut the circular hole. I c...

I dont know about enlightening, but I like the scene that is flashed by in the beginning sequence where Sal cuts a round hole in a piece of paper that he's holding up by the corner. That is so impressive. I cant seem to get my knives sharp enough, or paper of the right stifness and thinness to be ab...

Great Choice!! I have a few spydercos and the Calypso Jr. Lighweight (plain edge) is my favorite. I just purchased a Sharpmaker and it is quite easy to put a really sharp edge on this knife. (believe me, if I can do it, anyone can) The training video and book for the Sharpmaker are excellent as well...
