Re: Para 2 with button lock release..

My first backlock was a Buck 110. The “button” is all the way at the hind end of the knife, definitely not conducive to one hand closing. Spyderco’s mid-lock design is eminently one-handable, and crisp in operation. Plenty of low cost hind-end-licks are poorly executed and cumbersome to use, so it’s...

Re: Seki City sprints

I was very excited about the Endela in part because I thought the military was too big. Well I’ve got a millie now, and while it won’t be my first choice for the office, it’s gonna be my go to weekend and outdoor knife. 52100/ppcf pm2 can be my “gentleman knife” K390 in the endela/endura would be gr...

I waited too long on the teal delicas. My girls wanted them but I didn’t know they were limited run.

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

This is the reason I bought the Tusk. I had to take apart this horrifying knot by an Air Force honor guard co worker. I tease him for his in ability to tie knots all the time. How can anyone in any military service not know how to knot? https://i.imgur.com/FGU3l1S.jpg That pic really helps explain ...

Re: What should I buy to practice sharpening on?

You can use a sharpie marker to blacken the edge and watch your progress. Sharpen until the marker is all gone, and check the apex periodically with a 7x or 10x hand lens / jewelers loupe. Also, if you are reprofiling or removing lots of steel, you may need to clean the stones. They load up and beco...

Re: Help with next purchase

Endela has a similar blade length but a shorter handle since it doesn’t have the finger choil. Slightly more compact overall. I love the para3, it’s a fantastic size for edc. For weekends I tend to carry a larger knife. Work is a semi restrictive area as far as blade length goes.

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

Just got my first Millie. Wow! I was of the opinion that this thing was enormous (and it is) and that it would be a pocket hog (it is not). It sits in my back pocket and I don’t even know it’s there. The previous owner put a low angle edge on it, I just touched it up on a strop and it’s shaving shar...

15dps. Sharpens up quickly and easily on a handheld Doublestuff 2. Yes it gets wicked sharp, but requires more frequent attention to keep it there. Not always a bad thing I guess. Helps keep the skills up!
