Re: Would spyderco be willing to make a Para 3 variant for other markets?

... A “double detent” design would hold the blade in place at the extreme ends of the opening/closing arc but would allow the blade to swing freely through the arc. My guess is UK would have a problem with that, but I’ve been wrong before. .... There are double detent flippers available in the UK. ...

Re: Factory Seconds at Arizona Custom Knives

Can you really blame anyone that's hard for Cash. I dunno man I try to not judge people but I also have had multiple jobs, sacrificed luxuries in my life and have done without in hard times. It never occurred to me to leech off of a hobby to make a living. There’s a difference between vacuuming up ...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

Para 3. It's time to get deep carry clip... I hate to be one of those guys but it really does help a lot. Yeah, after few months with standard clip I gotta admit that it just doesn't work for me :( I agree, the Para3 benefits from a deep carry clip just due to how it sits in the pocket. I don’t use...

Ha! There can be no secrets with my wife, she gets pinged the moment a charge hits our CC. If I want to surprise her I have to do it with cash from the mad money stash in the safe.

Re: manbug wharncliffe chat

K390 and Magnacut would be cool, too. Yes they would!!! It may not be that popular, but I love the laminated steel with the patina built on the exposed core steel and don’t mind the scratches on the cladding. I "want one" but I wonder how much I would use it. I have 2 Ladybug Jesters and ...

Re: Straight Razor from Spyderco

Disposables last a few shaves and throw them in the trash when done Part of why we started using safety razors, and why some are using straights, is out of a sense of history and tradition. Part of it is to avoid the high cost of using disposables, and partly we detest plastic waste and disposable ...

Re: Would spyderco be willing to make a Para 3 variant for other markets?

From the description I think it would be more of a double detent than the slipit. Actually sounds pretty cool. Could you elaborate? Pardon my ignorance, but wouldn’t a double detent knife effectively become a Slipjoint? Is the distinction that it wouldn’t use a lockbar/back spring? “Slipit” is a ra...

Re: Swick 5 Hole Size ?

I have a SE Swick5 and the Swick6 in PE & SE. My fingers will go in the hole on the 6 just fine. It's very usable, but the 5 is a better fit for me. If I straighten my index finger and put it all the way in the hole, they will both slide off. The 5 will just slide off a little faster. Sliding o...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

Got there win today! Rough season, but they have a bright future. Yeah, it is a growing season and that's ok. Plus any day Jimbo looses is a good day (over rated coach). Sitting at 5-4 with South Carolina, Vanderbilt and FSU left, heck if we can win all three or at least two including FSU it will b...

Re: Swick 5 Hole Size ?

I’ve really been waffling on the hole size. Has anyone tried both in hand? We’re only talking 0.12” different in diameter here! I got out a dial micrometer and set it for both settings and measure my index finger past the second knuckle. When bent to approximate a knife grip my finger expands agains...
