Re: Hard truths and observations
I think that my buying decisions, like my personal associations, are based largely on trust. Trust is a quality that has to be earned over time. A company provides a product I am incapable of completely evaluating on its merits before I buy it. Reputation and my personal track record with that comp...

Re: Is this blade detail correct?
That does look... strange.
Curious what the function is?
I'll check my Autonomy 1 later to see if it's is present on it, too.

Re: FRCP vs. FRN
I prefer FRN. Mainly because, regardless of whether it's true or not, FRCP feels brittle to me so I have more confidence in FRN. In addition, I think transparent handles make a knife look like a toy and do not find that a desirable trait. I can certainly see your point here, but I would say that, i...

Re: FRCP vs. FRN
I like them both. However I don't understand Spyderco's resistance to releasing more translucent FRCP variations. I'd love to see some gray, green, red and orange but these requests never seem to go anywhere. I think they'd sell well. I love my Manix 2 LW in translucent blue. I have been asking for...

Re: Mule Team Scales from Halpern
I recently purchased the standard black G10 mule scales from spyderco for my first Mule, which I believe are Halpern made? In any case, they’re awesome and I love the matte finish—it makes them look charcoal gray, which is more interesting to me. That said, I’d love to see more micarta options: oli...

Re: Different edge angles?
If you sharpen both sides at exactly 13 degrees, but 1 side looks flatter than the other. Is the flatter side simply not finished yet? The knife is stupid sharp. But 1 side of the edge looks totally different. Was the blade clamped plumb prior to sharpening? This, or you have a nice edge, but it's ...

Re: Proposal: A Contoured Scale Series
I'm tired of waiting for Golden to do it. I'll be setting up an order for some of the Aramis scales this coming week. I don't know what exactly they are waiting for... Where's the Ti Paras? Is it *that* popular, they don't feel the need to offer a factory setup? Put out a Ti Para 2 with scales sligh...

Re: Pulse on the Tropen?
That's not as big as issue as it was made out to be, as your finger can't be there when closing, because the flipper tab will sweep through there. But what about sliding your hand in and out of your pocket? Your hand will slide right across it. I can't see how that's a good idea. I'll wait and see....
