Try rotating the stop pin into a different position.

Re: The "factory edge" discourse

The only “issue” that I seem to have with factory edges is that they are mostly produced with an even width bevel across the blade length, so towards the tip is more obtuse than the rest of the edge bevel. It’s also only an “issue” as I sharpen on a guided system so the tip always needs a lot of ext...

Re: What Knife would benefit from a button release.

What are peoples thoughts on the side for the button? Would index finger or thumb operation be better? Either would be possible given both RH and LH models are produced. ETA: Nvm after trying different grips etc myself it seems best it would be on the front / thumb side to prevent accidental disenga...

Re: Fixing Lock Rock in Seki FRN lockbacks

Hey Everyone, Just an update I seem to have found a solution. I installed an aftermarket flytanium backspacer for my endura 4 and that seems to have for the most part stopped the lock-rock issue. The action now feels more stiff so I will have to take another look. I have also found replacing the FR...

Re: What Knife would benefit from a button release.

Easy a button lock on a compression lock knife for lefties. Take a (righty) Para 3/PM2, and make a lefty button-lock scale. I knew I had seen aftermarket button lock PM2s but was thinking it would be backwards to how it normally unlocks. A quick search turned up the bladeswelove ‘PM2 ultra’ where t...

If you go for the G-10 options, and you like their Flag Micarta scales... RippsGarageTech is having a 15% off sale for May the Fourth (ends tonight).
Has this finished already, can’t see anything on their website?

Re: Zome + Super Blue Sprint!

I don’t see a fundamental difference between a unique knife in limited production numbers being available from a single source whether it is a retailer or the manufacturer. Both price the knife in a way that they will make money. I think we will just have to agree to disagree. The difference is 30%...

Re: Zome + Super Blue Sprint!

I disagree. The distributor exclusives are priced according to what the distributor thinks is fair and provide enough of a profit the same as the manufacturer. We call one the MRSP and the other which is typically less expensive the sale price. As far as I know there is no reason why a distributor ...

Re: Zome + Super Blue Sprint!

Funny, I feel the opposite way. Spyderco does a lot of Special Factory Orders/Exclusives for the various distributors/retailers. I think it is fitting that they do the same for themselves with the Sprint runs. They aren’t doing the same though, they are the manufacturer selling a sprint run at full...

Re: Zome + Super Blue Sprint!

It’s a shame these aren’t being offered through usual distributors, not sure why SFO only sprints have become a thing and hope it doesn’t continue.

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

I'm liking this. Looks great! I've been tempted to swap my 4V Millie blade in to my Ti/CF handle. Always love that DLC with CF combo, and pretty rare to see around here. Maaan, that blacked out carbon fibre look is d*mn nice! What scales are those, may I ask? That one is/was the S90V teal exclusive...

Re: Kroil for knife preserving

Simple paste wax or Renaissance Wax is used by almost all medieval armorers and weapons collectors. Anything that lasts for hundreds of years is getting coated with wax in most museums. I second the recommendation of ren wax, it’s really good stuff. I’d be careful with oils for long term preservati...

If any USA forumites would like to play freight forwarder please send me a message. I would love one of these but gpk has a $200 minimum international orders and aren’t shipping to AUS/NZ for some reason.
