The BIG tell is the fact that the Gunting has a compression lock, and not a liner lock. Once one realizes this, all the other ...

i'd like to see some pictures of these fake spydies... might be a good resource for us to have around here, to keep people aware of the counterfeits out there. Here is one. Was being offered by an Australian ebayer last year. I asked him to send me a couple of more pix as I suspected it was a fake,...

Still, Wouter's photo is of a prototype, and he did not mention if he confirmed with Sal that the production models had been switched to ZDP, or what the new MSRP was going to be. I had been hearing that the G-10 Delica and Endura were going to be coming out in ZDP as well until they came out in VG-...

The Black Lum due out this year is VG-10, and its MSRP is $199.95 (Street ~$130-175ish). Is there a future Lum expected with ZDP?

YXR7 is used in Rockstead knives in some models. They zero grind it and mirror polish it. They're awsome. Oh yeah! Saw them at Blade '07. Rockstead has a Cricket too! http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q8/Darkfin1/Knives/cricket1lgjpeg.jpg And here is a pretty amazing demonstration of edge holding ...

I am no steel expert, but if this chart is accurate, the YXR7 is the best of both worlds (Note: it is not "Y RX 7" as previously reported in this thread, folks must have Mazda old Sportscars on their brain. :) ) But apparently if corrosion is a big concern, the ZDP247 would win. Anyway, ma...

Thanks guys, so thus far the consensus seems to be that lockbacks will not experience appreciably more blade play over time than frame locks? That was my intuitive conclusion, especially because of what Paul said about metal wearing. Does anyone else have any thoughts? Or loosey goosey framelocks? :p

Lockback Question

A friend of mine and I were recently discussing the merits of Lockback vs Framelocks and while the conversation's particulars are unimportant, his conclusion was something I have never heard before, and I am hoping some of you good folks would offer your opinions. ...but the...
