Another knock against tip-down, tip up keeps the blade spine against the pocket, protecting my poor phone!

I'd like your explanation. I'm not challenging you, but it is interesting to make an absolute statement with no evidence.

Hey All, Curious to know how you guys/gals carry your knives. I seem to prefer tip up carry, utilizing the spydie hole to flick the blade out with thumb. One of my spydies is tip down only (ayoob) and I would like to hear from y'all about ways to deploy the blade from this type of carry. I've heard...

However, I completely understand and agree with you flipe8.

I like the Chris Reeve Sebenza for what it is... simple, efficient, effective, and easy to maintain. Mr. Reeve has made the Sebenza "no nonsense" for years because he meant the knife to be used, not look pretty. If you want "pretty" and flash, look elsewhere. At least when I loo...

Either way with a UKPK you could have the engraving or laser etching down the backspring on the back of the knife. That would look sweet.
THIS!

Awesome idea to get the backspring engraved!

Much more solidarity with the UKPK than I expected with the Manix on the radar.

Also, something to add, we're not getting it in G2 anymore, it's a Carpenter steel!

I have an idea, the FRN UKPK in Wharnie or PE Rescue blade! :D

On the other hand, all stainless Walker lock knives are few and far between, so perhaps it will be a RIL instead. That's what I was thinking. There is the sub-$18 CRKT Drifter that comes with a liner lock and G10, or stainless handles with a RIL. I can't imagine Spyderco would be economically unabl...

The FRN UKPK is so heavily discussed here, I think it's the best choice.

Also, I find slipjoints to be the most "gifty" of knives, there's something about the simplicity.

That said, a forum Mule would be amazing!

Either way, I've had such a great time here, I'm in for any knife!

Awesome thread! You don't hear much about the Police at all, and now I understand why. In the G10 model, you really aren't gaining anything over the Military unless you truly hate linerlocks. I suppose the choil looks better, but I've never held one in hand. I did like the Millie choil a lot though....

Are you interested in staying small like the Persistence? The most important thing in asking for blade opinions is giving a general guideline for the length you want. At the Persistence's size, there isn't a whole lot. Have you considered taking a big jump up, such as to a Paramilitary? For $140, yo...

Why I love my Saver Salt

I know lots of people complain about the Spyderco serrated blades with no PE section at the tip, but this has become my favorite part of the Saver Salt. I've had various :spyder: Rescue blades for a while now, but I never used them..No clue why, I think I was afraid of serrations and only wanted the...

Completely agreed with the only-need-it-one-but-it-had-better-work philosophy. I have a pristine ATS-55 Rescue in the glove box of my Jeep. It's never been sharpened, maybe used twice to cut a couple of very light things, and I am 100% certain it is as ready as ever to do its duty when the time com...

No clue what kind?

I know Lockback lockbars are [supposed to be] made of the same metal as the blade so as to not cause differential wear.

But on a side note, isn't it kind of silly to carry a knife ignoring its "functional merits" ? Absolutely. But many people, including myself, have a close bond to the "romance" of a traditional folder. Strictly usage-wise, the Sodbuster offers nothing over a brightly colored Del...

Now what we REALLY need is a way to buy rectangular blade blanks, already heat treated with the Spyderhole and tang set up for a D4. I'd lose my house if such a product existed.. Either way, I'd love to see all the rescue blades offered in PE. I'd definitely be lighter several hundred bucks if that ...
