Re: Byrd Colors, thank you Sal!

Yeah a Bow River has to happen for me. I'm thinking a brown Cara Cara as it'll remind me of the brown Calypso sprint I sold :(

Byrd Colors, thank you Eric, Susan & Kelly!

So thrilled to see the FRN Byrds getting some color variety in the mid year product guide, thank you Sal [edit: thank you Eric, Susan & Kelly]! These are great blades and thoroughly deserving of the attention! https://i.imgur.com/QinrEN0.png I'm thinking a grey Meadowlark and a brown Cara Cara :...

Well this is quite the 8Cr13MoV dream for me! Been wishing for colorful FRN Byrds and on top of those beauties the Bow River looks fantastic!

Re: Back locks rule

Agreed. I won't carry a fixed blade that accidentally pops out of the sheath. I won't carry a gun that slips out of its holster. I won't carry a knife that opens in my pocket. Detent based locks are a liability. I pretty much refuse to carry them at all after being poked a few times from them openi...

Thanks for the great review mate. How have I not tried one of these yet?! :) Whenever I use my Ladybug I wish it had a little choil yet somehow the Finch completely slipped past me.

Re: Disapointed with customer service..

Welcome to the forum, Daveho. Where was the knife purchased? Was it a dealer in Australia? Or somewhere that return shipping would be expensive? On the few occasions where I have purchased Spydercos that had quality control issues, I have always just returned them to the dealer rather then going th...

Re: Byrd stretch 2 model possibly?

...We're working on a Stretch size byrd folder. The design is between the Cara Cara and the Meadowlark ( 3.5" blade). Probably close to a year away by the time we're shipping production... Fantastic stuff! I wonder will this model actually resemble the Stretch (with a stouter blade and handle ...

Re: Chaparral Lightweight - thoughts and pics

Nice review, and great pics! You've almost got me thinking I made a mistake with the Chaparral. While I wanted to love this knife, that lock bar made it impossible. It remains the only Spyderco that I've ever sent back. As others have said, the back lock is extremely sharp. (I even managed to slice...

Re: A little look at the FRN Meadowlark 2...

Awesome review! Thanks for putting in the time to write this up. You have me seriously thinking about grabbing a byrd model now I'd say its definitely worth grabbing one. My only piece of advice would be if you get a less than perfect example first time just persist and get it replaced, as once you...

A little look at the FRN Meadowlark 2...

Hello all, Well they say you get bitten by the Spyderbug, so maybe I've been 'pecked' by the Byrd recently? :D I've been thoroughly enjoying my discovery of the Byrd line the last couple of months, so after my Cara Cara review I thought I'd take a look at the Meadowlark next. The Cara Cara drew me i...

Those three all sound great to me!

I'd love to see a range of different FRN colors for the Cara Cara and Meadowlark - similar to the variety available for the Endura and Delica.

Re: First time with a Byrd - Cara Cara 2 thoughts and pics...

Hi Uke, Thanx for the review and pics. vefy nice. The thing that makes it a budget model is the 6/1 ratio of the Yuan/Dollar. With a 1/1 even playing field, the Care Cara would cost 6 times more. The US dollar is worth 6 dollars in China. sal No problem Sal. Whatever the ¥/$ details, if you made 'S...

First time with a Byrd - Cara Cara 2 thoughts and pics...

Hello all, So the FRN version of the Cara Cara 2 recently coaxed me into trying out the Byrd line. I've been hankering for a larger lockback folder in FRN with a forward finger choil for a while now and with the Endura distinctly 'choil-less' and the FRN version of the Police 4 still a way off, noth...

The Calypso sprint really is a standout knife. I loved that thing and really wish I still had mine. So smooth and elegant.

Re: Chaparral Lightweight - thoughts and pics

Excellent. I can only resist the temptation to buy for so long. the blade has that dull 'thuck' as it snaps back into the handle, as opposed to the sharp hollow 'snick' of the other FRN lightweights. Sound is an underrated quality in reviews :p Haha! Maybe next time I should include a few audio fil...
