Re: Has Anyone Used a Spyderco Folder for Field Dressing?

The original Stretch would have peformed well in this regard, I believe. Some of the Spyderco fixed blades would also work well in this application. Good to see you back, SEF! You were missed by a lot of us here. (Sorry for the de-rail, folks). Back on topic: I carried an Impala (with the gut hook)...

Re: Let's see your very first Spyderco (or at least the one you've had the longest)

first spydie was a ladybug in the early '90s, hence the name. i remember seeing it in a knife shop when i was a kid and just begging my mom for one. it was missing for years, but i ended up finding it a couple years ago in an hiking pack i hadn't used since i was a kid. it has some rust now, but it...

Congratulations to your brother. That is quite an accomplishment! Outstanding job on the knife. It looks flawless.
Thank you, Ranger! He's pretty humble about it and doesn't like to talk about it much. I really admire his dedication and commitment. A fine young man to be sure.

Re: Special Knifemaking Project

Um, if you do decide to sell a couple of these I would be very interested in purchasing one from you. It looks very functional and we all know the steel is good. Thank you, rgc. This was my first experience using MagnaCut, but I can say this steel has quickly become a favorite. I've found MagnaCut ...

Re: Kudos to Golden Fire & PD

Wow, that had to be a scary feeling. Glad that you and Gail (as well as the choking victim) made it through the ordeal. I've never had to do CPR or the Heimlich Maneuver, but on a couple of occasions, I've seen it done on others. Scary stuff. Hope Gail mends quickly.

Re: Long Timers: How has this forum changed?

I've been a member here since 2001, although the forum "reset" changed that status in 2004, but it's all good. I guess one of the biggest changes I've noticed is the expansion of different models. Back then, the catalog was a lot thinner. There weren't nearly as many different models to ch...

I’d be down for another run if (1) they keep the pointy tip, (2) make it screw-together vs. pinned, and (3) preferably make it in Golden, if at all possible.

Beautiful, Jeff. That’s a real looker right there. 👍 On a side note, I couldn't help but notice the floor plan underneath your knife. Are you a building estimator / designer by chance? (I do the same in my line of work and was just curious). Estimator. Currently residential custom. Worked for a lar...
