Exclusive wave 2022

Moving the exclusive chat from the "Delivered and Upcoming" thread to here. https://forum.spyderco.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=91459 The reasons Exclusives are not selling out in minutes is more than increased quantity produced. Look at the recent Fradon Para3 with just 600 produced and it...

Re: Trying SE for the first time on a Byrd ?

:up-index-finger Ramonade, I appreciate your feedback. I appreciate the confirmation that it is as easy to sharpen as I'd suspected. I've had a thing for the Hawkbill for some time, I really like the finger choil. I don't get to use mine that much but have felt it is an awesome knife at an awesome p...

Re: Upcoming MT32P (SRS13/SUS405) discussion thread

Hello! I'm new to the forum. How fast do these Mules sell out? Any particular day and time they get released on the website? Thanks. Matt This mule probably wont sell as fast as the last one. There is considerable less hype around SRS13. In many ways this is a good thing, you are more likely to get...

Re: Sal's Casual Bombshell Thread

From the Mule Team Discussion forum - Poll: should mule purchases be limited to just one? We also have a "production Mule Team" in the works that we'll keep in stock all of the time. Same handle, slightly different spine (a bit more straight) to easily tell the difference, but same handle...

Re: Mule team - preorder

Reality has been accepted. For the record, I've never endorsed pre sales. I think Sal hit the nail on the head when he said in another thread the answer is to produce 20% more than immediate demand. As for not making money, that's the easiest of all. Just charge more. I think the better thought to ...

Re: Mule team - preorder

I'm not sure why other steels are being suggested at this point. Magnacut clearly is in demand. Why not make more of that? There was excess demand for SPY-27, and Z-Max, and S45VN. There's 3 other steels already planned before Magnacut which haven't been released yet. From our best guesses - Spyder...

Re: Mule team - preorder

Every Mule is its own project so there are only variables; Cost of steel, length of time to get steel, learning curve, processing costs, quantities, building the part, and each is a one shot deal. sal With all due respect, I don't see why it has to be a one shot deal. Most of the hard work is done....

TBH, if someone handed me 5 knives in different steels (ie. 3V, Vanadis 8, Z-Max, 440A, and S125V), I would not be able to tell a difference. I get too tied up in the numbers sometimes.
I bet you could tell the difference while sharpening
