Re: A knife designed by the forum
Name: Marlin Spike Dagger This is probably the only interesting design which will grace this thread, and I have no doubt it will be summarily ignored. THINK: Competition for the Cold Steel Ti-Lite Folding Knife 6", or Frenzy I Folding Knife 5.5" The Frenzy is a fantastic knife, as is the ...

Re: A knife designed by the forum
Good designs are the result of a singular vision, not an aimless committee. Like a smooth river stone, this design will be worn down into a nondescript oval shape by myriad dissenting opinions. What you'll end up with is a Civivi Elementum with a spydie hole.

Re: StNicksKnives Native Chief in Black CPM 4V and Red G10
This knife has sold faster than most other Golden exclusives in the past year. If anybody is wondering why it didn't sell in two minutes, I suggest an examination of external economic factors.

Re: Eric Glesser interview MPM2P3 club
I thought that the Para 3 IS the third in the Paramilitary series. Nope, it's a different pattern. The PM2 is a 'Para Military' pattern, second iteration. The Para 3 is a 'Para 3' pattern, first iteration. The '3' in Para 3 indicates the blade length in inches, and is part of the pattern name, not ...

Re: Eric Glesser interview MPM2P3 club
- The PM2 is moving more and more into its third iteration. Also curious to see how the Para 2 gen 3 looks, and what changes they have in mind for the model. There is no implication in the interview that a Paramilitary 3 is impending. Jason asked, and Eric just talked about the full liner and liner...

PB washers are over 99% copper and tin.

Between the model and the steel, I think the Rex Chief is the best folding knife ever made. http://www.decadecounter.com/vta/misc/nativechiefC244GPBORE_960.jpg http://www.decadecounter.com/vta/misc/chief_and_renegade_friends_forever_960.jpg http://www.decadecounter.com/vta/misc/gtnano_chief.jpg http...

I don't advise smooth SS handles on a defensive knife. You want peel ply G-10.

They dropped on 2020-03-18, satin and DLC with tan G-10, approximately 700 pieces each. Both variants sold out in less than 12 hours.JonLeBlanc wrote: ↑Mon Dec 20, 2021 6:31 amCongrats! I think I was not aware of an REC exclusive in 10V.

Re: Pochi for Self-defense?
Pochi for self defense? Absolutely not. Any hard object big enough to hold can be used as an improvised weapon, and I'd say the Pochi qualifies as a hard object. As an intentional choice for a defensive knife however, it would be among the absolute worst. It has no reach, a poor grip, fumbly deploym...

Re: BladeHQ PM2 Aluminum-scale Exclusive
This model seems to be an attempt to extract something useful out of PM2LW development. It has the crappy steel and linerless construction, but dodges the problems of the P3LW by using rigid handle materials and PB washers on both sides. Given the fact that the current production P3LW still suffers ...

Re: Native Chief in 204P/20CV/M390/S110V/S45VN/MagnaCut
While I'm not particularly excited about any of those steels, I'm a sucker for the Native Chief, and any new variant is a definite purchase. A new version with Rex 45 (DLC, FRN) would probably result in me buying 2-3 pieces.

Re: What knives are you interested in from the 2022 Catalog?
Nothing in the new catalog really interests me. I'll probably pick up a Magnacut Native for the collection, but I already have a whole pile of Natives and I don't find the steel itself particularly compelling. I was vaguely interested in the crucarta PM2 due to the variant construction method, but t...

Re: Native 5 salt is Magnacut?
In the big Magnacut thread on BF, there was recently a post from somebody who cut a hot Thanksgiving turkey with a custom Magnacut fixed blade and it developed a patina. I wonder if Spyderco's testing has revealed this potential?
