Re: Knife Joker GITD Jester 20CV!!

I actually haven't bought a knife since Feb. 2020. This is the first one since then thanks to Dan OZ Spyder for posting about it. Then Dan had to go and post about the DLT Tuff, the Schempp knife that got away from me. Fortunately those are still in stock. So after a year and a half of no knife purc...

Re: Knife Joker GITD Jester 20CV!!

When I started that thread, I put glow in the dark in the poll as something I personally wanted, not something I thought we'd ever actually see. I only just found out it became real and, of course, it's sold out. Ugh. Got you covered. Check your PMs What!?!? Thanks! This is one I've wanted for so l...

Re: Knife Joker GITD Jester 20CV!!

I was reading/lurking here way back and I remember folks calling for Jester sprints. Well, here we are guys, and in 20cv nonetheless! We've been waiting seven years! And the funny part is, it's exactly what the forum asked for! This is a thread for a Jester sprint started seven years ago - h...

Re: The Return of the Persian

I can look into it. Full flat? Steel" handle material? Bolsers? Changes? Ed's opinon? sal I like the original hollow grind and bolsters, but of the two, keeping the bolsters is way more important. I find the Persian 2 to be way less appealing, mostly due to the lack of bolsters. Sure, the v2 w...

Re: Official 2021 Discontinued List

Wow, one of the shortest discontinued lists in a while! And not really anything I need, except maybe a whale rescue blade. I wonder if it's getting replaced, perhaps LC200N?

Re: 2020 Spyderco Factory Seconds Sale

I wonder how it will work with the in-person vs. online sales? Will being there in person offer any advantages, or will you be waiting in line, in the cold while everyone online is buying the best stuff from the warm comfort of their armchairs as they sip hot, spiced cider while wearing only their u...

Re: Reveal 6 Live!

I have no way of knowing how many have been made/sold but it's been in the lineup for over 10 years. I know I've seen a lot of people comment they have a Sage 1. So I imagine it has been a pretty good seller. That said, I figured it's probably run it's course and figured it would be on the disco'd ...

Re: Reveal 6 Live!

Some great knives in the reveal. But that sprint run PM2? Way too much going on. It looks like a graphics design intern vomited all over Photoshop. Definitely a contender for the title of ugliest Spyderco knife.

Re: Seconds Sale 2020

How severe are the flaws on these reject knives? I wouldn't mind a random accidental scratch on a discounted knife but I'd be irked to think I'm getting a bargain, only to become the proud owner of a knife that won't open, or one with a lock like a wet tea bag. They are generally cosmetic defects o...

Re: In praise of Mr. Ed Schempp

Now I’m all charged up by the Euroedge. What other two Schempps, ethnic or not, are must-haves? Large Persian is probably my favorite design of his. I wish we'd get another sprint run of the bolstered version. And while I really like the Kris design, I'd probably make my second pick a fixed blade. ...

Not a fan of those silver liners. Would have really been killer with *all* black hardware. At least that's what I'm using to justify not getting one of these. ;)

I'll have to look to see if I can recreate that page on the Spydiewiki. I'm not certain if the new Spydiewiki can host PDFs or not. Fortunately, I have everything from that link (minus the Byrd related ones) plus a couple older items not at that link saved. It would be a great resource if Spyderco w...

Re: Kirinite

While the very first version of the first EDC Forums glow knife looked more like Moon Glow (which glows pretty bright), all the subsequent EDC Forums must have been the Kirinite version (which doesn't hold a glow as long). I think Moon Glow and Kirinite are pretty much the same from a material stand...

Re: Are sprint runs too limited?

Is it time to look at numbers on the sprint runs and re-evaluate? Make enough so we can actually buy one without taking a week off work and hitting refresh all day on 18 browser tabs... Thanks for listening to me vent and sorry for the negative tone, I have tabs to refresh. I'm pretty sure in a rec...
