Re: Sal asks you to design a Spyderco.

Thinking about this some more, I would want a knife with a handle like an Opinel or Mora Classic made out of G10 or Micarta with a Schempp cant, a liner, compression, or mid-lock locking system, and a blade like the Lum Tanto or Gayle Bradley. Steel would be AEB-L/14C28N/Nitro-V/CTS BD1N for stainle...

Re: Sal asks you to design a Spyderco.

Sal,
I think a Para-Military 2 would work. Maybe a left-handed model or a button like on the Spyderco Smock, to help with ergo's, as the right-handed PM2 can have a hot spot where the lock release is.

edit:
I forgot to add M4 as a steel I would like.

Re: Sal asks you to design a Spyderco.

I would have a line of knives. Military, Paramilitary 2, Para 3, Police, Endura, Delica, Resilience, Tenacious/Raven 2/Polestar, Ambitious, with full height hollow grinds, 0.010" behind the edge, 10* DPS with 15* DPS microbevel. Steel options would be group 1: (8Cr13MoV/AUS 8, 9Cr18MoV/BD1/440B...

Re: Spyder Co SharpMaker - What am I not getting?

Wow, thanks for all the great advice, I will definitely try all this out. Lots of good perspectives on this out there. I think having faith that this tool can do the job is part of the issue. I'm sharpening a benchmade, 2 spyderco's, and a semi-custom knife designed by todd begg called the kwaiken....

Re: Spyderco pro file kit

I have the Medium Profile (701M) stone. I absolutely adore it. I also have the Medium and Ultra-Fine Triangle Rods, which work nicely, but I definitely favor the Profile stone. I wish I had one in the Fine grit.

Re: Any 'Pull Through' Sharpeners worth a Darn?

I appreciate all the input and advice. A question concerning the Spyderco Sharpmaker...what makes it better than the Lansky Diamond Ceramic 4 Rod Turn Box that I currently have (other than the fact it's made my Spyderco)? Thanks again for all your help. 10SBUM The Lansky Diamond Ceramic 4-Rod Turnb...
