I've been carrying Spydercos large and small (and one Benchmade) exclusively for 26 years while engaged in some fairly rough activity: mountain climbing, rock climbing, white water kayaking, skiing, mountain biking, etc, etc. Always carried my knives tip-down. Never had any Spyderco accidentally ope...

Filleting trout and salmon - FFG in PE Skinning salmon - FFG in PE Butterflying shrimp - FFG in PE Full flat ground blade in PE produces smooth presentable cuts of fish. Especially important for preparing sashimi and poki where rough, jagged cuts are a no-no. Main thing is to use the longest blade p...

Clockwork - Thank you for the welcome. I've been a Spyderco fan since buying my first "Worker" in 1981. I should post a proper introduction and will so do as soon as dig myself out of my holiday "honey-do" list  Oh, I recently acquired a CF CalyIII and love it. Been con...

Is this the Military?

This was advertised as the carbon fiber Military, C36CF90VP. However it looks much different than the version I see in Spyderco's catalog and on their website. Looks like a lock back with wire clip. Perhaps this is a limited run?

What is this?

Hope the image shows up...

What does 196V stand for?

Congrats on your Police. I love mine and IMHO it's sexiest large folder in the Spyderco lineup. But there is one small difference, yours has 196V stamped on the blade and mine doesn't. Do you know what that stands for?

Thanks...

Spyderco Sharpmaker

First post on the Spyderco Forum, but long time Sypderco fan. I bought one of the first Clipits (Worker) back in 1981 (and I still have it!), and bought the a SE Police when it came out just a few years later. Over the decades I managed to dull the the edge on the Police but never had the courage to...
