Re: What were your first five Spydercos and why?
The first 5 Spydies did not matter.
Persistence
Resilience
Ladybug
Honeybee
Grasshopper
PM2 was the bait, hooked by PM3.
Where I live its hard to hold Spydies in my own hand. The few shops have only very limited models.

Re: Para 3 as first Spyderco?
You can protect the blade with tape. Being very careful anf slow helps also. For my Spydercos I use Sharpmaker only. For kitchen knives stones or diamond. Please be aware that the black DLC blade gets "dirty" soon and it stays that way. I like the look of new black blades but for EDC i pre...

Re: Para 3 as first Spyderco?
ALex, was the fixed blade after sharpening sharper as before?
I normally slice paper to check the sharpness.
S110v steel should be maintained to not being too dull. Otherwise its not easy got bring it back to sharp.
Which version of para 3 caught your eyes?

Re: Para 3 as first Spyderco?
Hi and welcome,
I love Para 3.
Perfect EDC size, super open and close action.
S110V is supersharp and better then S30V.
I recommend also a Sharpmaker for maintenance.
Do you have any knive / sharpening experience?

This is my current favorite edc.
Sliverax: if i want to be more playful due to so msny open variations.
Dragonfly 2 H1 PE: more discreet and lightweight
Vic. Rambler: during travel
Legal everywhere except airplanes.

Re: Finally got a stiff PM2...
My Para 3 S110V was very stiff.
After a few days playing it improved a lot.
Try loosen the pivot screw a tiny little bit.
Oil could help also.
Play with it 1 week and if it doesn't improve do the steps above.

Re: Official Sliverax Discussion Thread
I can use push button and lightswitch flipping with ease. Personally I am more trained in push button because my Kershaw Chill works best with push button. Beside, flicking with thumb and middle finger works also great. Gravity drop (open blade with hard downwards motion and a sudden stop) works als...

Re: Stuck Lanyard Tube
I could not remove the tube from the metal bars at my para 3 cru wear.
But i must not. You can remove the scales also with installed tube.
A blue one will definitely look cool!
Pics please if available.
Bye ric

Re: short intro & Para 3 Cru-Jeans-Wear
Toomzz: nice idea. Unfortunately i do not like to use clips. I do not want anybody to see that I carry a knife. Knives are pretty legal here (in comparison to our big neighbor Germany) but you still have to be careful what you show where and when. Especially these times where knife attacks are in th...

short intro & Para 3 Cru-Jeans-Wear
Hello, I am Ric from Austria/EU. Gotten into knives the last few years and got stuck on Spyderco, best FF, ergonomics and weight. Para 3 is my favorite EDC beside Dragonfly and recently Sliverax. I like flippers and Spydiehole plus Flipper is really awesome. I also moded my Para 3 CruWear because th...
