Re: Fitness 2022

I’m 43 and have been lifting fairly seriously for a little over 2yrs. Have had some nagging mild soreness in my right shoulder for almost a year and have battled golfer’s/tennis elbow in both forearms. Getting old sucks, but doing my best to stay a step ahead of it. Started Rippetoe’s chin-up protoc...

Re: S30V - how well does your Spyderco battle corrosion

I live in the midwest and got a bunch of rust spotting on my Sliverax after using if for yardwork and cutting up a bunch of weeds to go in the compost bin one day. Guessing something in one or more of the plants was extra corrosive since it was an isolated incident, but it still surprised me.

Re: Dear Sal... Seki Slims?

I’m pretty lucky I guess, since my hand-size seems to be a perfect fit for nearly every Spydie I’ve handled (pretty avg, size large glove,) but the Delica is one I’ve never really warmed up to. The first two I had were sold without being carried, but I bought a 3rd a couple months ago from clearance...

Re: Where are the LBK’s?

Just pre-ordered the slip joint Lil Native as my next potential LBK. Been waiting a while for this one to drop, but ended up on the fence about it once they were formally announced. Not sure it can unseat my Urbans, and as much as I don’t want to be “that guy” complaining about black g10 and s30v, i...

Re: It's a lonely pursuit...

Literally zero people in my actual personal circle, the closest I've got is Nate down the road but I also have such a busy life that he could be my next door neighbor and I still wouldn't have a lot of time for it… Don’t worry mate. I’ll break into your actual personal circle when we finally road t...

Plan to have this out and available for Christmas morning tomorrow.

Also been carrying a new to me Jess Horn in black micarta, which I guess is really mine now because it bit me today (very minor). :D

Re: Request for a Lil' XL Sage...No I Won't Shut Up!

It would be cool to see Spyderco innovate a little for once and bring something like this to the table. My suggestion would be for each large serration to have a combo-edge.

The Chief is larger than what I typically carry as well, so I compromised and only bought two.

Re: MagnaCarta

I think the machined texture of the scales give the micarta grain a more coarse appearance like burlap would have. I'm tempted to try to polish my G10 scales if I can do so without screwing up my sheath retention. Maybe I can heat the sheath and tighten it up afterwards. Obviously how much you take...

Behold, MagnaCarta!!!
is that the burlap micarta?

I think they are the “natural micarta” from Halpern. They had been on one of my b70p mules for years until now.

I'd say another salt knife, but there are no other Golden-made Salts yet.

Maybe the rumored Para 2 LW? That would be a killer knife.

Autonomy 1 and 2 😉

UKPK Salts giving everyone the side-eye.

Re: Mule Team quantity discussion

One thing to note with the MC drop is that we were also competing with FB and IG knife collector groups, a relatively recent phenomenon (2 years), but it looks like its going to be the trend going forward, for better or for worse. These folks can drive up demand and hype like there's no tomorrow wi...

Urban, Baby Horn, Jester. Chaparral fan as well.

Have a bunch more: Ladybug, Manbugs, Clipitools, etc…

Waiting for the slippie or a back lock exclusive (holding my breath lol) to try the Lil Native.

Re: Spyderco PITS Folder (Pie In The Sky)

Oh boy! Saw Sal mention previously that they were considering another run of the PITS, stoked to hear it is moving forward and that there’s another design out there. The PITS is truly one of my favorites and I fully agree with the “King of the slipjoints” title.

Re: Holiday Gift Expert Recommendations

If a lock isn’t a requirement, I’d suggest considering the Urban. The current Heinnie Haynes lw exclusive could potentially make for an extra special gift. Really tempted to get one for myself even though I already have 4 others lol. Big fan of the Chaparral as well.
