Re: Ranking Sprint Runs? Recent & Past models?

No particular order, just personal favorite sprints that I own: -Caly 3.5 Super Blue -og Cruwear Manix -154cm/s90v Manix (my only peel-ply cf) -g10 Jester -AEB-L Urban Honorable mention, SE Ayoob. Should be in the mail today or tomorrow and expect it to be up there in this list. And how could I forg...

Re: Caly 3.5 LW status

My most used knife is my Heinnie Haynes UKPK, it's beat out the pm2, para3, Delica, Kapara, Chaparral, Native 5, dragonfly, and Manix 2 for me. I'd imagine I would really like a Caly 3.5, which looks like a larger locking version of it. I’m with you man, except I also have a Caly 3 and 3.5, and the...

Re: Left handed preference?

I can close most everything but sticky right-hand frame locks pretty easily with my left hand, but I prefer left handed locks when I’m not using something ambi. On comp locks in particular, sure, I can close the standard ones like a back lock just fine. Do I prefer it to the left hand model I can dr...

Re: Blue Ti Titanium Scales

I like the worn ano on my blue PITS, but I’ve also done some diy ti anodizing on some other pieces as a fun science experiment with my kids. I could re-do the PITS at anytime if I wanted to, it’s really simple with a few 9v batteries and some othe basic equipment.

Re: What's next for the UKPK, Sal ?

I don’t think so… the British Blades Urban was brg and Elmax. Now the BB forum is defunct and ZDP also appears to be on its way out or at least harder to get, so hopefully we could get a new brg/steel combo for the UKPK.

(I’m fairly steel agnostic at this point, so open to suggestions there.)

Re: What's next for the UKPK, Sal ?

Let’s see, there’s a model called the UKPK.

There’s an frn scale color called British Racing Green.

It’s not rocket science folks… :thinking

Re: boomerang buys?

For me it’s the Delica. Not a specific variant, just the model itself. On my third one one now. Feels like it’s one I should own and appreciate, but it can’t seem to find much if any pocket time with me. Mainly blame the UKPK, which makes most other Spydies in my collection redundant for day-to-day ...

Re: Thinnest functional bladestock for a general use folder

The real question may be what is the thinnest bladestock where the opening hole doesn’t become a liability? 2mm is probably close to that limit imo.

Re: Urban Damasteel Sprint lookout thread

Eh, every pre-order I’ve done has come through. In the case of KJ, they’re limiting quantities (1 pre-order slot remaining) and accepting full payment, so I’m confident about getting one soon. Just sorta hope it’s not CC numbered.

Re: Damasteel Ivory G10 Urban

Yeah, I love this and want one, but based on the HH G10/S90V at ~$165 I hoped it would maybe be in the $185-200 range. $280 for an Urban is really eye-watering.

Guess I’ll have some time to save up/sleep on it since I don’t see them flying off the shelves at that price.

Re: Kiwi 4 lightweight

Happened to pull my Kiwi 4 out around New Year’s and have been carrying it frequently for the last week or so. Really cool knife, glad to have one, but it took discontinued pricing for me to pick one up. I want to support an frn or sprint version in theory, but to be honest I’m a little on the fence...

Re: SLD-Magic, anyone?

In for the novelty of a “Magic” knife. Probably hard to argue a clear performance benefit for the elu, but I think it would still make a decent blade?

Here’s the Specific sheet:

I am very curious how the Rippetoe chin-ups go. I had Golfers elbow 15 years ago and researched his Pn Firing theory but was afraid to make it worse, which you kind of knowingly are doing, albeit to get better. Look into Elliot Darden’s 30-10-30 workout, I hear the crazy slow eccentrics seem to kno...

Re: sensible home fitness equipment

Will agree with others that while resistance training is great, it doesn’t really burn a lot of calories. If your primary goal is weight loss, cutting calories/changing your diet is the most important factor. Cardio obviously helps, even walking, but I read somewhere a while back that “you can’t out...
