My First Spyderco Arrived!

This past Thursday, the mailman left me a surprise: my brand new Manix 2! Yup, you guys convinced me . I fought a mental battle trying to decide whether to get a Delica/Endura FFG or a Manix 2, but the Manix won me over in the end. I'm glad I chose it. It's an awesome knife, and I love it to death a...

If giving you the ability to scale walls as well as run longer and faster is tactical, then these are very tactical. They are also really sneaky, you know, like ninjas. I think we get it, you really like those toe shoes. :) It is funny how thick a healthy foot actually is. It is also really fun to ...

Very nice work! Because of the Military's size, it seems quite at home in the sheath. :) Why dont people get rid of the clip when they sheath carry a folder? Is there a reason other than just not wanting to tamper with the knife? The clip helps the sheath retain the knife properly. Otherwise, the on...

Very nice mod! Did you grind down the jimping on the liners, or are the liners new too?

EDIT: Also, looks like the openings in the scales for the BB actuator are larger (or different). Is locking and unlocking action of the knife any different?

Awesome! Those are perfect. Looks like both the FFG knives taper down to about the same thickness. In terms of the tip and blade strength, how do you like the knives?

Pic Requst: FFG Delica & Endura Spine and Tip

I'm contemplating buying either a FFG Delica or a FFG Endura, but I'm wary about their thin spines and tips. Could someone post a couple pictures comparing the two side by side?

Thanks,

Simsmac

Ah, darn it. I now see a couple for around $70 on Ebay, but I'd rather just spend a couple extra dollars so I don't have to deal with the potentially shady goings-on of Ebay...

Wow, where are you buying your Manixs? :D Cheapest I've found is $74 on Amazon.com. A point in the direction to the cheaper site would be much appreciated. ;)

Thanks for all the replies so far! You guys are very welcoming. :D Anyone gonna plug the Tasman and Spyderhawk though? I'm pretty curious as to how useful those two models are, especially the Tasman due to it's smaller size. Specifically, what are the limitations of a hawkbill blade? For example, ca...

It's only about $16.00 more than you're willing to spend. Even if you only make minimum wage that's only about 2 hours. If you like the knife you should consider it. Paul True, but I'm miserly like that. :D Nonetheless, I like the look of the Delica better. Sounds like that model is a classic, so I...

Welcome Simsmac, Spydies are good!! You might get addicted. I'm a little fuzzy on this: "Non-flimsy blade or tip (not able to be flexed by hand)" I believe with a blade that thins towards the tip you're always going to get some tip movement. Maybe Manix in 154CM then, It's pretty stiff an...

i like the Tasman & Salts too but the clips bug me, plus you cant disassemble them. the leek? sounds like a problem. What do you dislike about the clips on the Salts? The attachment point? The Leek isn't exactly a problem, but it's definitely not what I expected. The AO is smooth as butter, and...

Suggestions For My First Spyderco Needed

Hi all, I've been lurking here for a while, ogling over the numerous pictures of Spydies, and doing some research in an effort to familiarize myself with the Spyderco models. So far, I'm pretty impressed with what I see: numerous knife models in varying price ranges, all of which seem to be good qua...
