Re: A ''big'' question and challenge for Sal and Spyderco

What angle do you profile them? Read my P.S ... 15 dps If all of your knives are sharpened 15 dps, the only way to change bte for a given blade height is stock thickness. OP, not trying to be argumentative, but are you comparing similar grinds or are you comparing hollow grinds to full flat or flat...

Re: K390 Endura Full SE available now

https://www.spyderco.com/catalog/details/C10FK390/1887 I just purchased mine. Are you sure it wasn't Plain Edge? The pictures on the K390 product pages show the serrated versions. Maybe i missed it but I haven't seen the tick box to select Spyderedge yet. Only on the Police. :respect Your absolutel...

Re: Trying SE for the first time on a Byrd ?

Most folks would likely agree that for some reason, the Byrd serrations have a “less snaggy” profile straight from the factory! Many of the “nefarious forumites” you speak of go through great lengths to reprofile their spyderedge blades to get something similar as they slice smoother. Byrd serratio...

Re: Sal, may I ask: Any plans for an Endura (or Pac Salt) SE in FFG?

Just for illustration: I have this old (and low quality) pic, comparing the Endela SE blade to the Endura PE blade: An Endura SE ffg with the same serration pattern as the Endela SE could essentially have serrations over the whole length of the Endela blade PLUS about the same amount of PE section ...

Re: How do you clean your oxidation spots?

For prevention, I use tsubaki/camellia oil since I already had a big bottle of it for my kitchen knives and I have had excellent results with it. Great stuff, fixall ... always have a bottle handy! It doesn’t go rancid and it’s lovely on your skin. A bit like coconut oil but lighter and without a f...

How do you clean your oxidation spots?

Some call it rust, some call it oxidation. I clean mine using this weird sponge looking thing called "Sandflex Hand Block". It works well enough, but Im curious as to how you do it.

Its a new "Golden Age"

Even though I joined this forum in 2017 I have been a huge fan of Spyderco since the Centofante 4. It was my first Spyderco. Im not sure what year that was. Irregardless, I have seen many post about the "Golden Years" (1998-2003) of Spyderco. There is a lot of merit to those years, but I t...

Up coming Yojimbos

I'm surprised they haven't made the Yojimbo with wave opener yet.

I'm also surprised we haven't seen a SE Yojimbo.

I'm totally in on the Yojumbo.

Re: Centofante

Leave the grind alone! Screw pivot and maybe modernize the inlay I agree and redact my initial CQI. What about the wharncliffe centofante 4? YES! That would be great too. Just give us a sprint in a fancy new steel. My preference would be k390 as I have state, but I bet M4 would fly off the shelf.

Hi Systmrcvr,

Welcome to our forum.

We're kinda forcing these exclusive customers to make higher numbers.

I like the sound of this.
Its a double edged sword. Forcing the retailer to take more risk might result in less sprints.
