Re: Triple B/Spyderco Folder
...... I notice no cutout at the handles so it couldn't be a backlock...compression lock? ...... The prototype at blade show was a liner lock. It was in the prototype display at blade show. That is all I remember though. I saw it there as well. It was a linerlock with a micarta (?) handle. I didn't...

Re: Will we see a Native 5 slipjoint?
Funny, I was just thinking about this on Saturday. It's a good idea, and here's another, leave the hole out of the blade for the German market. Or maybe just a tiny hole for trademark purposes. You are allowed to carry a non locking, one handed knife in Germany. But there sure are other places, tha...

Rc inlay limited edition pm2 scales. I used a dlt tan 20cv exclusive for the liners, screws, and lanyard tube. I love Rc and this is my new edc. https://i.postimg.cc/cCYJC65h/543-EEED9-3-C46-4-D14-AFD8-7-DA35-D4-F949-A.jpg Took a few seconds to see the rest of the branch. Though your blade is missin...

It is your knife, do what you want with it....or do want you want, within the law :grin-sweat That said, a lightning anodizing sounds awesome. I personally like the idea of the choil. The Paysan already has a notch, so a choil doesn't add a snagging spot. I only see the advantage and nothing bad. If...

Re: "sharpener's steels"
It seems like CPM-CruWear just wants to get sharp. Always fun sharpening this steel. Super fast and super sharp. I really like to sharpen CPM-M4. It just works for me. Great edge without any hassle. K390 also produces very, very nice edges. But it takes a little longer than the other two. On the oth...

...... OK, here is where I need help. Whats the best way to maitain the convex grind that works so well with this knife ? Im slightly confident I can do it using leather strops & different levels of paste ? Thanx, Jeff, From KS A strop will only be good for so long. If you really dull the edge,...

Re: Corrosion Reports
FYI Rex45 is also called HAP40, which is quite common in some expensive hand made Japanese kitchen knives. I think they are usually stainless clad, but still the exposed HAP40 is not reported to rust, just patina. so I would not expect Rex45 to have rust issues, just patination used in the kitchen....

Re: Corrosion Reports
After I wasn't able to put a patina on my Rex 45 Manix, even after cutting fruits with it, I really was surprised, how corrosion resistant Rex 45 seems to be for me. I don't like to keep my blades oiled and clean all the time, so I was ready to start a little experiment with my personal corrosion r...

Try clamping the Sharpmaker down to the table and use both hands to hold the knife. With two hands, you will be much more consistent with your angle.

Re: did somebody say magnacut manix...?!
I keep wondering about the spring. Getting that 100% stainless and 100% reliable at the same time may be the difficulty. Dan There is some spring element in every folding knife. So Spyderco must already have found a spring steel, that is up to the requirements that they have to put it in a Salt kni...

Re: New Spyderco Paysan CQI: defective & disappointing
I think it's clearly a problem with this model because Spyderco makes many frame locks that are just fine. I understand being deterred from buying others because of this experience, but it seems like an overreaction to baselessly criticize every other frame lock model they make. I'm just letting yo...

Re: First Sharpening - What's it Do to Resale Value?
If the sharpening is expertly done and there are no scratches on the blade or handle I can't see how anyone would even know it had been sharpened. If the knife had been sharpened by David ( Evil D) or any of the guys I know here that are well trained in the art of sharpening it wouldn't bother me i...

Re: Respectful feedback and ideas regarding 15V sprint runs
I agree. If I was denied, even, the opportunity to buy a knife that I wanted because I didn’t win a lottery - I don’t think there could be a faster way to turn me away from a brand. I see a sprint run lottery as an effortless participation trophy. I agree, too. I'm not saying the current way is the...

Re: Respectful feedback and ideas regarding 15V sprint runs
Just one more thought on lotteries:
I think a lottery would make it even harder to get the sprint you want. Since it is easier to sign up for a lottery, more people would try to get in. Thus the number of rivals would rise.
