Re: Which GOLDEN ERA Model Should Be Next?
It's good to see some interest in the Renegade Chief / Blackhawk Native idea. Here are two previous threads where you can show your support... https://forum.spyderco.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=90354 https://forum.spyderco.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=90671 http://www.decadecounter.com/vta/misc/chief...

I don't believe in metal handles, but I'd still buy one for the collection.

The bottom scales are made by Caveman, and they're aluminum. He has direct sales on eBay, username 'svr'.

Somebody needs to have a talk with Mike Janich. There are infinite examples of him abusing Spydercos by flicking them over the past 2+ decades. I bet those OSHA fines are really piling up!

Re: TNP Nutnfancy Spyderco Delica 4
I like Nutn just fine, and the billboarding doesn't bother me, but I find the model uninteresting. If he did a Chief, Millie or PM2 in a compelling steel, I'd definitely buy it. I bought his limited run from a few weeks ago, a Daggerr Sting with D2 and yellow G-10. It's nothing amazing in terms of m...

Re: Describe the upsides and downsides of your favorite knife in a single statement.
My favorite Spyderco folder is the Native Chief, and I'd like it to open when I draw it from my pocket. I contacted 5X5 Combat Solutions and they said that they would start working on an opening system for that knife next!!! :party-face I'll buy at least 2 maybe 4 of those opening systems. That's v...

Chief, with Millie in a distant second place.

Re: Omaha Knife
I've never bought from Omaha Knife, but the S90V Lil Native is currently available from many dealers. Additionally, there are no counterfeits of this model.

That knife is definitely a counterfeit. Everything is wrong, including the blade engraving, screws, clip, jimping, etc.

Re: Blade Length to Weight Ratios
Here's a blade/weight chart I made recently. It's Spyderco-centric, but includes some models from other companies for reference. The red line indicates a 1:1 oz:in ratio.

Re: New Knife Steel Ratings by Knife Steel Nerds
This is the first time I've actually seen anyone complain that they're running REX45 too hard. So it would seem to me that we have the best of both worlds. You can buy knives with REX45 at a higher hardness or HAP40 with more toughness. How fabulous is that? :cheap-sunglasses ^^^ This. After about ...

Re: CPM REX 45 | Edge Performance
If anybody's interested in trying Rex 45 with a lower heat treatment, Bradford makes a Guardian 3 at 64-65, and a fillet knife at 58-60 with a spring temper.

Re: CPM REX 45 | Edge Performance
PM2 and Chief, KME diamond at 15DPS with a 1500 grit finish, deburr with my thumb. I've never had any significant chips or rolls, with 3+ years of use. I've cut hardwood, cable ties, small gauge copper wire, scraped paint off aluminum surfaces, etc. I am firmly *against* any lowering of the Rex 45 h...

If you're concerned about the strength of linerless G-10, watch this video. Demko does their standard strength tests on a CS Air Lite, which has linerless G-10 with a much lighter handle construction than the Chief.

Re: Fully serrated Native Chief
I'm definitely on board for any new Chief variants, serrated or otherwise. I don't really have any interest in 52100, but Cruwear and 4V sound good. Rex 45 sounds better.
