Re: Strongest Spyderco Fixed Blade?

short blade, thick cross section and tough/ductile steel are the three key factors,
in that regard the Enuff's short and stubby body, full tang, H1 steel and full thickness make it the hardest to break, be it by prying, chopping, bending, twisting or throwing, IMO

Re: Well done Eric!

here in Spain, 80 to 90% of wines have a cork, but then again I believe a corkscrew could be replaced by more useful tools, like an awl, an additional screwdriver, a tiny bit driver (like the one on the Vic Cybertool)... unless it fits the Victorinox mini-screwdriver, then I dig the corkscrew :p htt...

Re: Could Spyderco produce a Lightweight, Lower Cost Navaja?

Peacent, do you consider the Navajas made by such companies as Navarro and Joker and other Albacete firms to be low cost tourist trap knives? They seem to use good molybdenum vanadium stainless steel. I have seen thin bladed ones that are cheaper but what of the ones that cost around 40 US dollars ...

I am tired of "low cost Navajas" that I see on local knife shops (AKA Tourist traps) here... :p :o

Re: Spyderco genzow sheath problems

I'd say, for the most part, Spanish leather sheaths (in knives and tools) are usually well made and durable, in my experience with 30+ Spanish blades, axes, shears and pruners :o

Hope you get it sorted out

Re: Cold Steel replacing AUS Japanese steel with cheaper Chinese steel on their "Economy models"???

I think we could say the same of, for instance, KAI While their upper line (ZT) sports ELMAX, S35VN, and CPM-20CV, their new Kershaws are mostly downgrading from 8Cr13MoV and 12C27 to 4Cr and 3Cr, :o but this way they have an even wider range of prices, products and reach even more market sec...

Re: Cold Steel replacing AUS Japanese steel with cheaper Chinese steel on their "Economy models"???

this is not something new, back in 2018 their new models made in China (like the Luzon) already had 8Cr13MoV. All of their "secondary lock" models sport the CrMoV steel since they were released last year. :o But we can't really complain, they have steels for all price levels and...
