so is a spydie drop less abusive on the knife than a full speed wrist flick? Probably. Depends on how you do it (i usually try not to flick any harder than necessary, in which case, I'd assume the wear on the knife would be comparable). I've been occupied learning different ways to open my Manix2-i...

Now THAT is a steel I'd like to try out!

My first was a first gen Dragonfly, SE, in late '94 or early '95. Someone just gave it to me.I beat on that knife for years and it still held out. Lent it out, and it was carelessly lost. :(

Sal, Kristi, I think maybe it's time for an extra area for all the political/etc tomfoolery, we could make it invite only or screened registrered users only or something, keep it unreadable to the public en masse who might, indeed, be offended by the passion that fervent debate can sometimes bring. ...

Yes, and I will say that watching this and the Bushcraft really increases my appreciation for the total culture of this company, ranging from being willing to take some chances to standing up when things go wrong. :spyder: Completely agreed. I want to get a Bushcraft just to support the gesture. We...

Might I also add, it's really friggin' cool, some obstacles notwithstanding, to be able to involved in the Mule Team project? Kinda makes me feel like part of the R&D department (which is part of the idea, by my understanding). That we get some rather nice general-purpose fixed blade knives (onc...

If you like Tigerbalm, you should go to Singapore and see the "Tigerbalm themepark". That isn't what they call it of course, but it was built by the inventors of Tigerbalm. It is like a Disneyland, except it contains Chinese themed beliefs and myths. That sounds very cool! so it's like a ...

I would guess that a different makeup means that the Mule run was from a bad batch of steel, or one that had so much of some of the hardening alloy that it was overly brittle. I don't know if ZDP-189 is an evolving mixture as the ingredients are top secret, but I'm sure that whatever info can be div...

I just read today that they are putting the final bits of video archive from the beginnings at Perdue University in 1987 online, so everything that has ever been on CSpan is now (or will shortly be) up. Pretty cool.

A $25 slip-it Kiwi! Ya I'm def down for that too! Wouter/Sal, what is the projected blade steel for this? I figured it would be inexpensive considering the similarity in apparent construction to the insect series slipits, but $25 MSRP? now that is cheap! I can afford to learn engraving/inlay ...
