Re: Taking apart knives

I have a right to repair the things I own. If it voids the warranty, so be it. Unfortunate, but understandable given the incompetence of many consumers. However, any measures taken to prevent me from repairing those things - be they red loctite, easily stripped screws, tamper-proof seals, or proprie...

Re: USA made models,...

Don't get me wrong, I wish the US was the most, but it's not, basically because of this: https://youtu.be/CaJTwwm1nwg&t= Hahaha wow. I never thought I'd see an MDE video posted on the Spyderco forums. Sick, sad stuff. A depraved internet comedy troupe so soaked in irony that they whinge about s...

Re: Spyderco’s Polestar & Alcyone should not be in the “VALUE LINEUP”

Personally I'm very curious about BD1N steel - imho these new nitrogen-rich steels hold much promise. I'd always considered that the Polestar and Alcyone would be a natural platform for the upgraded steel.

Re: Spyderco Alcyone, a great job

Other purchases have taken priority, but the Polestar and Alcyone are still 'on the list,' so to speak. If the blade steel were to roll over to BD1N - as Sal has suggested may eventually happen - without a price increase, they would shoot up to the top of list.

Re: Wharncliffe Delica line expansion

I'd like to see an S90V or S110V version in the liner-less Salt 2 handle. I made my own by putting the S30V version of the blade in a yellow Salt 2 handle. It's a great little user knife. The S30V blade swap is a great idea! I suggested ZDP, however, because as timlara pointed out it's a Seki steel...

Wharncliffe Delica line expansion

The upcoming sprint run of the Wharncliffe Delica in HAP-40 got me thinking... personal interest aside, I think a production wharncliffe Delica in ZDP-189 makes a lot of sense. I love the ultrafine, tenacious edge the steel takes but many find it tricky to sharpen - I think the wharncliffe blade pro...

Re: LC200N Pacific Salt

Endura handle is a no-go for me. I was hoping the new Pacific Salt would mean an update to the flawed Endura handle, not the other way 'round. I'll be waiting for the LC200N Salt 2 - I honestly feel that with the weight savings from the Delica liner delete coupled with the FFG blade it has the poten...

Re: Chokwe Dreams

The Chokwe is still the best Ethnic series knife Spyderco ever made, and probably my favorite pocket knife of all time if I had to choose just one. I'd buy a sprint without hesitation.

Unfortunately, you're missing a very crucial letter... MAP pricing is % OFF MSRP, not of.

I would think that k390 might be a good candidate for a serrated edge.

Great news! I was hoping they'd get here before the end of the year. I have a bit of store credit at bladehq so I'm eagerly waiting for them to get some in stock.

Re: Any news on the Pacific Salt 2?

Hi Brj, Just planning tooling now. It will be a while. Hi Ipc, Welcome to our forum. sal I hope the handle shape will remain as it is and just change from volcano grip to bi-directional.The Endura4 handle shape is...a deal breaker for me  I agree. The Endura 4 handle is ergonomically flawed. I...

Re: Hundred Pacer - my most anticipated of 2017

Looking at that handle I imagine it's very comfortable for some hands and uncomfortable for others. Seems like it forces your pinky into the rear groove and then the rest of your fingers land where they may. Or maybe you can fit all fingers ahead of the rear groove? I don't claim to speak for all h...

Re: Hundred Pacer - my most anticipated of 2017

I...just have a hunch that it may be a hidden gem out of this year's releases. It looks like a great blade shape and is sort of close to what I hoped the Spydiechef would have had for a blade. Agreed on both counts! I was all set to buy the spydiechef based on Slysz's original design, but - as triv...

Hundred Pacer - my most anticipated of 2017

I had a chance to handle the Hundred Pacer early this year, and was surprised by how quickly it grew on me. At a glance, it had "pass" written all over it: long, wide, odd. I usually prefer light, pocketable knives, but once I picked it up I just couldn't put the Hundred Pacer down. Despit...
