Re: DLT Cruwear purple Para3

Nobody's defending DLT here (at least I'm not, pointed out that it was even party their fault) but I'm trying to paint an objective and unbiased picture here. Bottom line, some collectors decided that PM2/Para3 collecting is much more better than other Spyderco knives, created a group dedicated to ...

Re: DLT Cruwear purple Para3

Why do you think the demand was artificial? Buyers are buyers. It doesn’t really matter who bought (or wanted to buy) the pm3’s today. The site once again could not handle the traffic. The business failed and that’s a big problem that DLT needs to finally fix. If they want to get these huge paydays...

Re: DLT Cruwear purple Para3

I think it’s time that they get put in the corner by Spyderco until they figure out a way to clean up these release fiascos. For f-‘s sake...you have to be able to do better when you are generating that kind of revenue. That goes for Spyderco too. I’d like to hear the response from Golden. I guess ...

Re: DLT Cruwear purple Para3

I agree, DLT really should improve their hosing. There is no excuse not to have a host that can handle 100x the usual traffic. There is no incentive for DLT to improve the customer experience. We’re talking about something on the order of $100k in sales in less than 5 minutes. I really enjoy buying...

Re: Polishing Lil’ Native G10 scales?

I wet sanded mine with 600 grit to knock down the factory g10 texture. It took very little time to get the scales “smoothed out”. You won’t get a polished look at 600 grit, but you’ll get close to the smooth g10 cruwear models that knifecenter did a couple years ago. I put the sand paper on a flat g...

Re: Best Handbag Folder for Wife?

Thanks everyone. Lot of great advice here. I should definitely discuss with her and let her practice with my dragonfly first. As you said earlier, perhaps intimidation will not work and the best method may be pepper spray or cellphone. We live in a very dense urban city and during these times I hav...

Re: edc backpacks

Tom Bihn Luminary 15 Very nice shape, holds a large amount of stuff for a 15L pack and the straps are the most comfortable that I have used. All of the organization pockets/access are discreet and the bag disappears on your back. It loads easily, has an outside access laptop compartment (that pulls ...

Re: custom shop...

I think it would be exciting to spec out a custom slip joint (similar to a ukpk or urban), something that Spyderco can build efficiently, and sell for in the ballpark of $200. I think it’s also worth considering that going to the custom shop to buy the same piece that xyz dealer/distributor owns the...

Re: Ed Schempp Bowie & Persian C83 & 75mm

The Bowie doesn’t get that much attention, but it is such a good one.

You need to hold, manipulate and use it to understand why it exists in its form.

Ed Schempp gets it...he has such a great perspective on design.

Re: Watu...AKA Lil Chokwe

The Watu is really excellent. I’m generally not a fan of the g10/carbon fiber scale material, but it works on the Watu. The straight lines, heavy blocky handle, holes and scale material all work together much better than I thought based on pictures alone. The detent is nice and strong too. I really ...

Re: Question to Sal (and generally)

https://forum.spyderco.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=86314&p=1410966#p1410966 This topic sort of came up recently in another thread. It appears that Spyderco developed numerous methods to unlock a compression lock, and chose the tab as the primary implementation over the button release and others....

Re: Wireless earbuds

Are earbuds with transparency mode worth it I didn’t think so until I bought The Airpod Pros Huge upgrade over the first/second gen form factor. Transparency mode (and full noise cancellation mode) works great. I do a bunch of business on phone while mobile, so these are the greatest thing since sl...

Re: Who owns a Hanan?

I have owned and used a Hanan since October. My only real gripe is the “thick-ish” grind. The flipping action on mine was not good out of the box. Pretty much like everybody else has experienced. I used a pin vise and a pointy diamond burr to barely widen the detent hole in the blade by hand. Night...
